Here's my list:

Trades/Drafts
- Sign Eric Gordon (we seriously need a bona fide starting SG who can shoot 3s)
- Trade Jefferson for a pick (draft Marshall/Lillard)
- Trade Harris for a pick
- Keep Tinsley and Earl as backups
- Fire Corbin
- Hire Carlisle/Thibodeau (if available)
- Let go of Bell, Miles, Evans

Training
- Get Kanter to learn Hook Shot
- Get Favors to hit FT
- Get Hayward to dominate 1 on 1
- Get Burks to play with composure

Seriously, if this happens then I really like our chances next year to be in the top 4 in the west.

Hayward isn't that kind of player. He just needs to refine his shot, work on finishing drives, and a bit on his post-up game.

Agreed with everything else? Thanks :)

Nah, most of your list was too ridiculous to even respond to.

Also find it funny you want to keep Tinsley after he had as bad a playoff series as anyone on the team, if not the worst.

As much as I really don't like Watson, he would have probably been better if healthy because Tinsley wasn't flexing any of his passing ability in the series at all.

Come up with your own list then - this thread was meant to be for you guys to participate.

Hate it when people don't come up with anything, but keep shooting down others' opinions/ideas.

I was actually thinking about it.

Here goes nothing.

Phase 1
Get every Jazz fan to pray to their respective god, or read a book of science, for us to get the 8th pick.

Somehow spin Al for Houston's lottery pick, or a mid-teens pick and a decent rotation player who can shoot.

Phase 2
Draft Harrison Barnes.
Draft Kendall Marshall.

Phase 3
Somehow sign Brandon Rush. If that doesn't work out, sign someone who is good at 3pt shooting. Put a bunch of names of FA who shot above 40% from deep on at least 3 attempt per game. Pick a name, try to sign them.

The only player we should think about resigning is Carroll. I would look into getting the shooters first though. Also might want to look into getting a PG if the Marshall thing doesn't work out.

Phase 4
Tell everyone who is left on the roster to practice and improve.

Specifically
Kanter and Favors being quicker and more powerful in the post. Tired of seeing slow-mo Al Jefferson style fakes.
Tell Kanter to go play some European Tournament basketball.
Tell all our wing players to live with Horny.
Tell Hayward to start to develop a bit of a post game. Doesn't need to overhaul, just be comfortable operating in the post.

Phase 5
Corbin's first training camp. Will be able to actually have meaningful practice time to implement a better system.

Phase 6
Rape the Warriors and Mark Jackson.

Also open to trading Harris, though I'm just as open to keeping him.

sweet musical redemption for my motha ****ing ears.

Tinsley really disappointed me this series. Haven't really heard anyone talk about it, but he brought nothing to the team. Wasn't expecting him to do great, but I thought he would at least provide a couple of sparks with leading some fastbreaks.

wow. I like.
perhaps a bit too much hinges on luck in trades and draft picks, but I'm down. I'd like to hear your plan B

I liked your list for the most part. Doubt it's realistic we can trade Al and Harris for a pick, although I'd like it. I do want to get rid of Al though. As good as he is, that mentality doesn't win championships.

The most glaring need for an upgrade is point guard. I just don't know how that will get done. I'm curious to see what KOC has up his sleeve.

After that, I'd love a veteran NBA coach who has won at least one playoff series. But I doubt they cut Ty loose. We're stuck with that dog**** on our shoe, so to speak.

I'd also like to see Carroll stick around. I'm not a big follower of free agent chatter, but is there any reason to believe we have a chance at signing Eric Gordon? He would be a dream come true.

I put a little bit more in with an edit.

Getting the 8th pick is pretty critical. Hell, if we got the 8th pick we could package it with Al and potentially get a pretty good starter out of it.

If Jefferson is gone, then I'm open to keeping Harris until the deadline. The two just looked awkward together.

Harris and Al don't really work together, but Harris isn't stopping anyone else from getting a fair shot, either.

I try to stray from group-think meltdown madness or beating a dead horse to death, but I am totally sincere when I say #1 priority for me now (and for most of the last two seasons) has been to be rid of Al Jefferson.

Trading Al might be hard. Not sure what his trade value is. I felt like he actually played pretty well the last two playoff games, which I felt was huge for retaining his value. I'm equally open to trading Millsap if it means getting significantly better value back. The key is just to have a starting spot for Favors and get some pieces back for an unnecessary front-court player (Jefferson or Millsap).

In a perfect world we retain Sap and re-sign him to be our 6th man, kind of like Haslem in Miami. I don't know if he wants that though, so it might be best to trade him at the deadline during the season instead.

Agreed on Harris. If there isn't anyone better available, I don't see a point in getting rid of him, unless we are getting offered something nice.
