Following potential 2012 draftees

More worthless drivel .. but I spoke with a scout today (Boston) and asked why, in his opinion, Barnes slipped so much. He answered immediately with, 'ball-handling.' He said Barnes is viewed as being very limited offensively mostly for that reason. Nothing really knew, except it comes from someone who gets paid to evaluate.

I'd just like to say that I said this way back at the beginning of his freshman year and got trashed for it. Boom bitches.

Any shot we could buy a pick? And what types of teams typically sell them off, and for how much? I felt like the Kerr-Suns sold off a low 1st rounder two years in a row.

Jazz are trying to pull something off around late lottery. (I've heard talks failed with HOU but their calls are still going out)
I don't know the specific answers to your questions, though.

Teams with two first round picks are:

New Orleans
Portland
GSW
Rockets
Cleveland

All of those teams are probably the best bet to buy a pick from.

Talks back on!!! Just heard the Jazz 'feel they'll have a pick around #15.' Hearing that it's HOU again.

Again, this comes from UK connections involving interest in TJones. Talks were going on this evening (that I didn't know about until after the fact) and they look positive. Especially after I was told all talks had died.

Someone remind me, can we actually trade for the pick? Or do they draft for us, then make the trade?

Also, PKM, if someone leap frogs GS and we get the 8th pick, do you think we'll still want to make a trade for Houston's pick?

I have no more idea than anyone else here. My hunch is that the Jazz value someone around 15 a great deal. If that's true, then I would suspect we'd be after that person regardless of the GS pick.

I wish. But I don't think so. Nothing against Rivers, but the ONLY thin I was asked to keep quiet (no big thing, believe me), suggests it's not a SG.

Maybe they view him as a PG? Just a thought. The fact that the Jazz are so high on someone is exciting though, whoever it is. Color me very curious.

Size, athleticm, work ethic, and unselfishness.

Who fits that quality around 13-18?

Maybe Jazz are looking at Quincy Miller. He's tall, long, and athletic, but would possibly lose an arm wrestling match against Tayshaun Prince.
