Favors and Hayward added to team USA

This doesnt make any sense. Why would they choose a back up big who only plays 20 min per game? Why wouldnt they choose our star Jefferson.

If you can read, all of the select team is composed of young up and comers who aren't quite good enough to be on the main team yet.

I cant see how this is bad at all. Honestly they've never really been around real talent and leadership at the NBA level for any real amount of time. They will get to see first hand how hard the very best work to be that and will likely get some great coaching as well.

Again, how is this bad?

This. +1

Keep in mind that this is Blues we are talking about.

I think the point was Favors v Big Al and who is better (for the Jazz).

The point was that why should Favors be chosen if he cant get off the bench. But I made a HUGE mistake by saying they should have chosen Al.
Really it was just a smart alecky remark. Not ment to be loaded with pure facts of information.

Then I was right. I thought you were taking it in that general direction.

It is funny that everyone else in the world can see that Favors is better than Jefferson and Paul....except for Ty Corbin.

Years ago, Paul Millsap and Ronnie Brewer participated in this. I think it was also the way Deron Williams was introduced to Team USA. DWill played well in Vegas and started beating out Chauncey Billups for a spot on the team.

If Favors stuffs everyone and rebounds well, it will definitely get the team's attention. Dwight Howard is out, Bynum is out, LMA looks to be out, and neither Love or Griffin are stellar defenders. There's just Tyson Chandler. Well, and Anthony Davis...

Love, Favors, and Chandler would make for a good frontcourt rotation. I know Team USA likes to go small ball a lot and play Melo or Lebron at PF, and with Griffin's apparent injury, he may want to rest after the playoffs.

Ride pin with Team USA, they practice against stars, not scrubs.

Yeah I agree. Stockton & Malone were both cut from the 1984 US Olympic team and look how they turned out. This experience, if nothing else, will motivate them to want to improve even more over the Summer.
