Following potential 2012 draftees

I like the addition that you are talking about, but you are missing a huge part to all of this. That part us known as Big Al.

Call it addition by subtraction. Call it whatever you want. I cannot handle another season of Jefferson for 30+ minutes a game, killing the flow and defense of this team.

Jefferson has to be dealt.

I don't like it either. I know Al is not ideal to have. But so is Millsap? At least Al has the length and he's improving as a passer. Millsap is forever going to be undersized. I think what Al lacks, Favors makes up for.

What are we going to lose next season by parting ways with Millsap & Kanter? Alright, Millsap is clutch. But scoring wise, we can still count on Al for at least 18pt, you add to that the hustle of a starting Favors and hopefully you don't miss Millsap's hustle so much.

Watch this now: this deal could effectively puts us a lock for years to come at PG (Rivers) and SF (Q Miller). We already have Hayward a lock at SG and Favors at PF. That's 4/5 positions locked up. OK we have to put up with Al, but what he lacks, Favors makes up for hopefully.

Edit: We always complain about our lack of shooting - this effectively puts us over the 'above average' rung IMO.

All of those players are good additions but Jefferson could hurt their development.

I see a Rivers/Hayward/Miller/Favors line up being quick and pushing the ball. You add Jefferson to that mix and suddenly that changes the offensive and defensive schemes that will be run.

I just don't want Jefferson.

You don't need everyone to run. If we have Rivers/Hayward/Miller/Favors, I don't think you'd have to tell Jefferson to 'run' everytime there is a fast break.

Look at OKC, they run all the time and you don't see them getting rid of Perkins.

If we could amnesty Jefferson and play lineups like:

Nash/Hayward/Miller/Favors/Signed Center
Rivers/Burks/Evans/xxxx/xxxx

That seems decent, but I'm not sure it's really worth giving up Kanter for.

Also worth noting is how the league has changed. I've been following the playoffs and there seems to be less need/emphasis on having a solid 'pivot' not to mention needing to have x2 (Favors & Kanter). Memphis got ousted even though they have Marc Gasol & Randolph. May be having a stud in Favors is sufficient (ala Orlando)?

Seems to me, having a more complete - running & gunning teams with dynamic guards & SF shooting & going to the line seems to be the winning formula (OKC, Heat). May be the sign of that hand-checking rule coming into effect?

Perkins doesn't demand the ball and he makes his man work extremely hard to get a shot off. Not even a close comparison.

This makes me want to keep Millsap around even more. He has shown that he can be effective in a small ball line up

Classic tweener? Not big enough for a PF and not fast/quick enough for a SF. He's the reason we had to go with the BIG lineup against Spurs (he was too undersize to hold his own against other PF defensively).

I could write a book on this. I'll refrain.

Give me 5 guys that can all handle the ball, make the pass, crash the boards, shoot it, and defend .. please .. and make them as tall as possible. The idea is get over height and look for guys that can do it all .. then height. So much more to add, but ...

Uhhh. The reason they use Millsap in the BIG lineup is because there's no way they can get Favors anywhere close to the minutes he deserves otherwise.

Kanter VS Rivers & QMiller.

Your thoughts please.
