What's new

Following potential 2012 draftees

Funny thread. I would consider Miles Plumlee at 47. He could be a nice backup down the road. Nice video regarding Miller. It wasn't the usually slam dunk fest that most videos are. I certainly would have considered Miller at 18 (where the Jazz would be picking - again I thought it was dumb to give the T-Wolves two 1st round picks). However, the kid should have stayed in school one more year and worked on his body and strengthening his knee. I am not concerned about him not jumping high on his jump shot. Magic Johnson never jumped that high. His mechanics are a little off but most of the negatives are fixable. I do have doubts he can put on much more weight but he can still get stronger. He is not as good a shooter/player as Reggie Miller but I think he could certainly become a similar player. I don't know if he has the swagger of Reggie but he is still an intriguing prospect.

I am so, so close to negrepping you for disrespecting my boy spycam like this.

Don't go there girlfriend

I guffaw in your general direction.

Was travelling most of yesterday. Thanks for the kind sentiments. I assure you I never got mad at anyone on this board. Hantlers - I laughed when I saw your mocking .. I know it's all in good fun and part of any board. I actually got miffed at the deal not happening if I'm being honest. I know these things happen (or don't happen), but it's one that, in my opinion, this one should have gotten done.

There's not a single poster on this board that I wish would go away. I may tell them to die or something, but again, it's just part of an internet community and what makes it all good fun.

Back to the topic .. I have been less 'loose' with things I hear because I see how it spirals out of control .. I don't know, maybe that's just fine, but I don't like to be the one that initiates any hopes getting up.

Also, as far as me not sharing as much 'knowledge' about player's games .. back in November of 2011, when this thread was started, it seemed only a few posters here knew anything about any HS and collegiate guys .. now, it seems most everyone in this thread knows quite a bit about most of the good ones and my input isn't as needed. I do still feel like I know a lot of the little peripheral things (attitude, work ethic, intangibles, intricate parts of their game) because I've seen most all of them, in person, multiple times, over multiple years .. and I'll continue to share those things as I see they may be helpful .. but this board has become much more knowledgable, as a whole, than the average NBA fanbase, I bet.

I'd just like to point out that that's largely because of your posting. This thread allows us to draw comparisons, bounce ideas off of each other, and it's a lot more fun even when you just have rumors about which way the Jazz are leaning. I think we all understand that nothing you say is 100% set in stone, but I enjoy hearing it regardless.

Thanks!

13 minutes per game over the course of two years to start your career? It certainly isn't ideal.
Maybe 13 minutes a game to start a career is not ideal for most, but Kanter is still very raw and new to the game, and he took 2 years off. I think he needs more time then most to come into his own.

PKM, I know nothing when it comes to HS players, And what I know about collage players with the exception of a few is very limited.

As far as your inside info I don't care if it doesn't pan out, but it is good to know what's going on, even if it doesn't come to fruition..... Pleassssssseeeeeee keep sharing!!!

Guys, don't worry. If PKM leaves, you still have my immense knowledge to learn from. I know it's hard to admit, but I'm smarter than all of you.

Hantlers does have a good info base on college players .. as does Cyrone, Verlin, and many others like spycam, orangello, and many more if I were to actually give it any thought.

I'm pretty good at extrapolating an opinion based off other peoples opinions, who likely base those off what they hear from other people as well. I might as well do the draft for KOC.

PKM, thanks for all the Jazz love. I love this board and all the different opinions. I don't care if the rumors come true or not. Most what you say is intelligent and interesting. I want to give a SHOUT out to all Jazz nation. We may bitch and moan about what we like and dislike about the Jazz but WE ARE THE JAZZ NATION!!! One thing we can all agree on is that Life would not be as grand without our UTAH JAZZ!!!!

Wow, what a fan you are! If you ever come to istanbul, let me get you to some basketball and soccer games, it would be fun to watch games with a fan like you.

I am on the east coast so it is not as early as you think to have my first beer. I am actually sober but just feeling the fan love. Life is good today. Enes Cantear You Apart - I will keep you in mind if I visit Turkey.

The funniest thing about all of this is I am positive KOC is having conversations with almost every team in the nba. Pkm has some info on a few of the conversations and I am positive they are going on. I love to get that insider info though. Thanks pkm and I like to think I have a little info on college players.

No doubt, X .. not a complete list without you for sure. I agree that KOC is most likely speaking with everyone with no exceptions. My contacts aren't Jazz specific, so I would only know the things that spill over to things that involve those contacts .. and I'd guess it's an extremely small percentage of the overall Jazz picture.

By the way, here's what GSW offered the Jazz and how the Jazz countered (for a couple of you that I've already PM'd this to, I worded it wrong the first time, even though there's no difference, per se).

GSW offered to lower the protection of next year's pick ('13) from top 7 to top 3. This, in exchange for Jazz agreeing to guarantee GSW this year's pick.
Jazz countered with the Jazz being guaranteed the '13 pick (rather than 3 protection) AND wanted GSW's 2015 1st, lottery protected.
The info gets a little fuzzy here .. but from what I understand, KOC was prepared to negotiate to the 'middle' by walking away from the '15 pick and just taking '13 unprotected. I was told the Jazz were confident the latter deal would certainly fly and the feeling was GSW would take the deal as well .. but talks ended before any further negotiation ever took place, which surprised the Jazz.

This made me a bit frustrated. Not at KOC or even GSW .. just that it was one that should have gotten done and at least we'd be looking at getting GSW's pick next year, guaranteed.
