ESPN NBA MOCK DRAFT 9.0 (includes Second Round)

I would rather have Crowder than Hummel, but Hummel was probably a late-lottery pick before two severe knee injuries.

Verlin, can you fill us in?
Thi sis all it says. Saucey huh?

Wolves (via Jazz)

Arnett Moultrie
Position: PF
Height: 6-foot-11
Weight: 223 pounds
Age: 21
School: Mississippi State

Analysis: The Wolves are really hoping a sweet-shooting 2-guard will fall to them here. Alas for Minnesota, it looks as if they'll all be taken in the lottery. That leaves the Wolves with three options: (1) They can go with an athletic big man, such as Moultrie, Fab Melo or a real dark horse such as Miles Plumlee; (2) they can reach for the next best 2-guard, Will Barton; (3) they could try to use forward Derrick Williams as trade bait to move up in the draft.

I like Hummel at 47. The kid can play and if he is healthy then he would be a steal. I also think he played with Hayward growing up so perhaps they have some chemistry on the court. At 47, you take a chance on a guy who can shoot even with the injuries. Now if you were talking about the first round then no way.

As some have said, Hummel was a very good collegiate player with NBA talent .. the knees are gone though.

If Marshall do fall as far as 20 (as in that 9.1 mock draft), then we need to some way, somehow, find a way to get him.

He'd be a steal at 20.

I don't see that happening, no way .. but if so, then yeh.

In this latest mock it seems like there are a lot that are moving up hence Marshall slipping: Harkless, Ross, Moultrie, Leonard, Zeller.

If we can somehow snag Marshall in the mid teens this would be one of the best and realistic outcome we can hope for IMO.

So not only are ya a nba insider you are a doctor to now? Hummel will be in league for 10 plus years. High bball iq with a nice jumper. Steal for a team in round 2.

Wait. I'm a doctor for predicting his injuries will keep him from being meaningful .. but you're a genius for saying they won't? How is it different? Hack.

Actually as a laye second Hummel might not be awful. He might be had as an undrafted fa too. I am concerned by how heavy he comes down from his shot. That puts a lot of stress on his knees. He leans forward on his shot and lands at a v with his knees locked. Like I said late second he might be worth a look.

A steal if he's at least 90% healthy (I doubt it) or a waste of a pick if not.

I agree. Plus I think there's a good chance the severity of his injuries causes him to go undrafted.

Besides, why does Utah want a shooter? Jazz are intent on pounding the ball inside. Team philosophy under Corbin seems no different than what Sloan taught...shoot from the outside only if the clock is at 23.9 and you have no other option.
