Portugal is playing chippier. I like that. On a side note, how much gel does Ronaldo need... sheesh.

On a side note to the side note: this bit of talking to myself in this forum is serving no purpose then to prepare me for the zombie apocalypse. Ya'know when I'm locked in a basement all by myself with just my border collie.

Well looks like I am going to need more practice...

A couple of near misses, one by Spain and one by Portugal. The game is picking up steam! Also, Ronaldo is whining to the refs which either means Portugal is frustrating him or he's Ronaldo...

Penalty Kicks... I hate Penalty kicks.

Portugal has played amazing team defense and Ronaldo has emptied his tank. They kind of deserve to win this game. Imagine how unstoppable Spain would be if they had a finisher/striker.

The funny thing is, they do. If Portugal can play their defense similarly to France (minus that defensive lapse which led to the first Spanish goal) it'll be a close game throughout the 90 minutes. Germany is definitely the best team left in the top 4, Spain doesn't look as lethal as they once did.

Am I right, or am I right? Portugal damn near stole that one.

Missed game due to work, will rewatch it later. One step closer to Germany-Spain finals.

I think they should have stole it.

They played better in the first 90 minters; the rest was just them trying to survive. Ronaldo could've put it away in the ~89th minute if he had had a sliigghhtlly better pass. I repeat, Spain does not look as good as they did in 2008 and 2010. On the other hand, Germany has only gotten better.

I hope the German team plays to form. Spain doesn't give many options to counter attack they just don't make that many mistakes. Italy is no slouch either. Hopefully, the Italians don't "control the tempo" tomorrow.

Special thanks to you StephenMaria for keeping the thread going. I was at hospital during the game because of my horrible horrible toothache, it was a real torture for the last two days.

Anyway I watched the summary of the game and I'm glad Spain won :) But with current performances Germany looks like to win it. Let's wait and see.

Not trying to be a hater, and i apologize if i upset anyone but does soccer ever try to improve the game? maybe they do but i dont see it.
Seems like NFL makes changes every year to try to improve the game, and basketball came up with the shot clock, 3 point line, ect, and just this year they are looking into stopping flopping.

I think soccer should make it so everyone knows how much time is remaining in the game instead of just the officials. I mean how about everytime the refs stop the clock the game clock stops as well. That way the players, coaches, fans all know exactly how much time remains. Seems that it would make the end more exciting as you might have a team go for a last second goal.

Also do something so there are no more tie games.

And can anyone think of a good way to make the games a little bit more high scoring? Maybe somehow alter the off-sides rules. maybe take one player from each team off the field so there is more space/less defense.

I want to like soccer but these a just a few of the things holding me back from becoming a bigger fan of the game.
