Potential trades

I think all trades should be for draft picks/proven veterans that add depth to our team. If we can deal Harris for a draft pick and trade Jefferson/Millsap for a lottery pick and another PG like Lowry I think we will be set.

Gerald Wallace was traded for a top 3 protected pick and he was an expiring contract so why can't we trade Millsap? Granted the Nets owner is an idiot but you think Houston would do a top 10 protected pick + Lowry for Millsap or Jefferson?.

Even if we only get a lottery pick back, we could potentially have 4 first round picks in 2013, two that could be lottery picks. We could easily trade up into the top 5 and get Shabazz who was recently compared to Gilchrist but a much better offensive player.

This is Chad Ford's new article on the 2013 draft class published today:

A third player, freshman Shabazz Muhammad, could also be in the running to become the No. 1 overall pick. The UCLA recruit has been compared to a more offensive-minded Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. He has a similar motor and athletic ability, but adds a killer scoring streak to his repertoire. Whether he can show that off in the confines of UCLA's system remains to be seen.

He's also been compared to Kobe and Harden. Even if we don't get Shabazz, I think trading for draft picks makes sense because it means we still retain our cap space for 2013 and pursue an elite/all-star PG.

Here is the 2013 free agency list for the top PG's:
Chris Paul, L.A. Clippers – $17.8 million – Unrestricted
John Wall, Washington Wizards – $5.9 million – Team Option ($6.7 million)
Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors – $4.0 million – Restricted ($5.3 million Qualifying Offer)
Kyrie Irving, Cleveland Cavaliers – $5.4 million – Team Option ($5.6 million)
Darren Collison, Indiana Pacers – $2.3 million – Restricted ($3.3 million Qualifying Offer)
Jrue Holiday, Philadelphia 76ers – $2.7 million – Restricted ($3.8 million Qualifying Offer)
Ty Lawson, Denver Nuggets – $2.5 million – Restricted ($3.6 million Qualifying Offer)
Brandon Jennings, Milwaukee Bucks – $3.2 million – Restricted ($4.3 million Qualifying Offer)
Ricky Rubio, Minnesota Timberwolves – $3.7 million – Team Option ($4.0 million)
Devin Harris, Utah Jazz – $8.5 million – Unrestricted
Kyle Lowry, Houston Rockets – $5.8 million – Team Option ($6.2 million)
Eric Bledsoe, L.A. Clippers – $1.7 million – Team Option ($2.6 million)

Given we already have 2 first rounders next year, I don't think KOC will be seeking another. Here's my trade idea that I put in another thread, but this one may be more appropriate:

UTA out: Al
UTA in : Pau

PHI out: Iggy
PHI in: Al (may need to include another piece)

LAL out: Pau
LAL in: Iggy

Sorry, no caveman on the Jazz.
I have to veto any trade that has Poo coming to the Jazz.

I just can't agree to that on principle.

Dont think Al would be a great fit in Philly. Why not seek more 1st round picks? It seems like everyone wants to trade for them come draft day so why not have all the cards in your hands while retaining cap space.

Maybe Morey still has something up his sleeve, but he seemed to have trouble moving his 3 1st rounders yesterday. Obviously if someone wants to throw in picks, that's fine, but I don't think we're in a position where acquiring picks should be a priority.

Also, I've talked to several Philly fans who would sign off on Al. And I talked to one who said straight up he'd rather have Pau, but given Al is expiring he'd rather take Al.

Philly played with a slow, plodding front court this past year. It's not like Jefferson would be something alien to them.

or jordan, or wade, or...

older jazz fans will remember that at one point deshawn stevenson was supposed to be that type of player.

Well, let's see:

Came to the NBA straight out of high school? Check.
Won an NBA championship? Check.
Became an arrogant ***? Check.
Accused of rape? Check.

Well they got Moultrie last night, so that slow back court just turned into a pretty athletic one, especially if they start Maurice Harkless or Thaddeus Young at PF.

"Last night, the Philadelphia 76ers drafted small forward Moe Harkless. Today, Andre Iguodala sold his home in Philadelphia. Coincidence?"

Nah. He should be getting traded. Philadelphia is too stocked with wings who can't shoot worth ****.

Hence my trade idea.

I still think it would be interesting if they just went with a 4 pereimter player line up with:

Holiday
Turner
Igoudala
Harkless
Moultrie

Athletic ability out the ***. Could work if Harkless or Turner could hit a 3pt shot.

I know the 2013 prospect list will be starting any day now. But please keep Shabazz off of it. He will never, ever play in Utah. His dad and countless handlers and entourage will derail that quick. Probably the most self centered prospect to come out in sometime. People hated Rivers, they will despise Shabazz.

Someone is mad he didn't go to UNLV..
