That was 3 seasons back. Now he is pushing 30 and backing up other legit all stars.

I am not saying that this is a bad move provided the Jazz make another one to move Harris. Otherwise this is underwhelming. Moving Harris to SG is not the solution as he is undersized, lacks an outside shot and needs the ball

I would rather have my outside shooting come out of a 6-6 or 6-7 SG/SF like Hayward or Burks or whoever we get in a trade than rely on the PG to be the main outside shooter

His game doesn't having anything to do with athletic ability. He could very easily be the same PG he is today for the next 5 years.
 
I have not found this posted anywhere but Alex Kennedy is reporting that Jason Kidd will follow DWill and sign as a back up wherever DWill goes. Dallas and Brooklyn are the main choices.

Dallas will pursue DWill and Nash. Toronto is going to make a hard push for Nash.

My point to all of this is that there will be a losing team in all of this. Someone is going to wanted a serviceable PG and that means hat more than one call will be made to KOC.

How many "true" PG's are out there? Is Harris? There's nothing bad about having a PG that can score. I think you're underestimating his PG skills because that isn't a role Williams was playing with the Clippers. They have CP3 for that. If Mo's needed to be a playmaker, his past shows he's capable. I don't see why age should be a concern either. There are countless productive 30 year olds in the league...some are considered to be in the prime their career (which I believe Mo still is).

Not to mention Chicago, who would like Harris as stop gap while Rose is out. His one year contract fits the bill for a few teams imo...
 
Not to mention I heard (from a Clippers beat writer I believe) that the Lakers were in on Mo Williams and were disappointed they couldn't get a deal done for him. Never hurts to keep a quality player from a rival.
 
Possible trades for Harris:
Chicago: Rip Hamilton and the draft rights for Teague?
Dallas (if they don't get DWill); Harris and Bell for Marion, the rights to Crowder and a $3.2M trade exception.


Just a couple of ideas. I like Teague and that seems fair value for giving Chicago a good expiring (which they need) and a player to fill in for Rose until mid-season. Dallas has fewer guys I like. Motivation for them is getting expirings and bringing Harris back. Their choice of either taking on Bell or giving us Beaubois or a protected first next season.
 
why would the bulls trade a player at a position where they actually have a need for a player at a position where they have all-NBA talent? and throw in a guy they just drafted, too.
 
i like it when a player is acquired and everybody is so thrilled that they phrase his weaknesses as strengths: "oh the great news is, his game doesn't revolve around any kind of athleticism."

again, there are things to like about mo... but by about december we'll realize that actual regular season mo and hypothetical june mo are two different players, and people will probably want his head for any number of things. then, the more grounded forum members will switch from "guys, he really isn't that great" to "guys, he really isn't that awful" and we'll have a devin harris type situation all over again.

They have 3 point guards on their roster. Not that it stopped the Jazz, but there's not much to be gained from Chicago aside from getting former Jazzmen back. Chicago isn't going to give up next year's draft pick since they could fall off the wagon without Rose.

are you talking about:
(a) Rose (out for the year)
(b) CJ Watson (backup)
(c) Teague (zero games played with a guaranteed contract on a team with financial issues)
?

I think the Bulls would be interested... but, I see what you are saying; it's hard to get a good trade back from them.
 
I'll try to get behind it, probably more grumpy for having my Rondo dreams Mo'd down than really hating on MWill.

Maybe he can be our Chauncey Billups. I don't think Mo has played in an actual offense since he was here. Possibly he could flourish as a vet within a system.

One thing I am sure of though, Harris is definitely going. No way we are paying @ 20 mil for a pg position manned by zero stars.
