Jazz trade Devin Harris to Atlanta for Marvin Williams (merged)

wow, if true, the Hawks are finally tearing that **** down. That looks like a move that will result in a tank job.

I know Johnson's contract sucks, but they sure didn't get much from the Nets for him. Wonder if we could have enticed them with a Big Al, Devin Harris, and the GSW pick for Johnson? That seems better than the garbage they got from the Nets, and it still gives them expiring contracts. A SG isn't our big need, but if we slide Hayward to the 3 a starting lineup of Mo Williams, Joe Johnson, Hayward, Millsap, and Favors could have been interesting. Would have screwed our financially flexibility though so probably wouldn't have been worth it.

Awful idea. There's a reason the Hawks took back trash for Johnson. Yeah he's good, but he has probably the worst contract in the league. I remember when ATL signed him that people were saying that even though they overpaid, they didn't really have a choice. I totally disagree with this. A bad deal is a bad deal.

If NJ resigns DWill they will have roughly $50MM tied up between DWill, Crash & JJohnson. That's easily the worst super team in the league. I wouldn't even consider them a super team, but NJ is paying them like they are.

Then again, if Patrick Kinahan is the one breaking this rumor, I'll stop holding my breath. When he says a player is committing to or leaving BYU, I believe him but his Jazz credibility has yet to be established.

Hahahahahahaha. The trade makes sense on both sides. Maybe Harris can play some 2 for them. A Harris and Teague backcourt is good but undersized

Wonder if this will affect the trade?

Per David Aldridge twitter minutes ago: Breaking: Nets "very close" to acquiring Joe Johnson from Hawks for Farmar, Petro, Morrow, Williams, Stevenson and protected pick (Houston).

And per Nets beat writer Stefan Bondy twitter minutes ago: "League source confirms the Nets have all but finalized deal for Joe Johnson. Wow."

This is what happens when you max a player like Joe Johnson. You back-peddal and take scrubs from one of the worst teams in the league.

I know that others have commented, but I feel as though I need to add to this discussion.

Doing that was a much better way of expressing my feeling rather than stabbing the next person that I saw which will undoubtedly be someone that I actually like. Just say no to Joe Johnson.

D-will, crash, Joe, Brook Lopez,Humphries (If signed) and Marshon Brooks isn't a bad start. Although how will D-Will and Joe co-exist, both need the ball a lot

Not a bad start but they are not contending either. If they are not contending then what is the point of DWill staying?

DWill and Joe can both play off the ball enough.
Distribute the minutes so that you always have one on the floor. I can see it working. They got Joe for peanuts, and, suddenly, things might work out in Brooklyn. Their contracts will suck, but they'll have talent.

If they're tearing it down, I wonder if Al Horford is available.

Too much money. I like Horford but less than 9 rebounds in 36 minutes a game at 12M a year for a few more years. Nah. He's a solid defender and I'd like him at the 4 and Favors at the 5 but still, too much money methinks. We'd have very good size. But Supposedly Favors wants to be a 4 and I don't like the idea of Horford at the 5 anyway even though he's played most of his career there.

Gotta blow it up. That team underachieved.

New GM and he inherited 6 players with 61 million in guaranteed contracts. 3 years in a row they fell flat in the playoffs. Gotta imagine that Teague and Horford are the only untouchables.
