I voted NO because I don't think M.Williamsx2 makes Utah better, as I don't think they are a significant upgrade from Harris or Howard. Harris was playing some strong basketball post the All Star break and you hope that would have continued all season. Howard was playing good basketball and made some big plays before his injury, but shouldn't have been back in the starting line-up for the playoffs. What I do hope is that the team as a whole is better. You hope that the 4 young guns have improved and that Millsap and Jefferson have another year to mesh together. I think overall that the team will be better and be back in the playoffs. If they are a higher seed than #8 which they should be, I don't think it is because of Mo and Marv. It is because the pieces that existed are a year more mature.

Much better. I could easily see the Jazz improving by 10 wins from last season.

The only way this happens is if Hayward and Favors take that 3rd year step. If not, I think we win maybe 5 more games and finish 6th or 7th in the West.

If Gordon and Favors take that next step we'll contend for a top 4 position.

Listening to Locke, says Utah has always like Marvin and thought Atlanta misused him.

Last season when Josh Smith and Joe Johnson were out, he averaged something like 25 ppg.

He can ball, hopefully SF, ex-Hawk, spot up 3pt shooting Ty Corbin can carve out a niche for Marvin and play off his strengths. I'm optimistic.

We are better, maybe not hugely better, but improved. J. Howard was about done and a cancerous ball hog who could not make a 3. Harris was SG in a PG role. Mo is not the greatest pure PG in the world, but better. And marvin can shoot 3s.

Anyone know how well Mo Will runs the P&R?

PS: now we have 3 players selected #3 or better in the draft. Will be interesting to see if Marv can get closer to that #2 potential. Only 25 years old.

Williams scored more than 20 points twice last season. Smith and Johnson played in both those games.

I'm not a huge Marvin Williams fan, but his overall game is clearly an upgrade over CJ, Josh,or Gordon. I see Devin as a better defender than Mo, but Mo is the better shooter. Similar ages. Perhaps the BEST part of adding Marvin is getting Gordon Hayward into the SG slot fulltime. That should help the team a great deal, especially on wing D, where our length is now improved.
Mo - 6'1"
Gordon - 6'8"
Marvin - 6'9"
Paul/Derrick - 6'8"/6'10"
Big Al - 6'10"

Marvin will chuck shots up and Mo will blow his ACL .....and we'll still be better
