AK at his age isn't gonna get the $$$ in the NBA he can in Europe. He was grossly overpaid here in his later years with us too...

sure, but i pulled stats from just euroleague, which is when AK's team goes up against the best teams all across europe, not exactly as weak as when they dominate the russian league so badly that AK only plays 17 mpg.
either way, it's moot. the marvin trade pretty much spells it out... AK isn't coming back. we have two pretty solid wing starters in hayward and marvin, plus burks who should see a minute increase and carroll/murphy for the dirty work. guess it ain't happening.

again, it's a moot point, but $ doesn't matter. his CSKA salary isn't huge, and AK has already donated that salary to charity. he's not going to go where there's money, he's one of those guys who legitimately wants to compete with the best. if there's a market for him in the NBA, he'll come back.

The only silliness of bringing back AK is that he's collosally better than Marvin Williams. So he'd be backing up a guy he's much better than.
Most of the AK haters are the ones who became Jazz fans after they got Deron, so they saw what happened to AK after that, which had a lot to do with Deron and Jerry siding with Deron over AK. However, since we found out what Deron was really like, the dark side of Deron that we didn't know about at the time, you would think these AK haters would have a more balanced picture of him. I watched a lot of those Euro games. AK is still a player with lots of skills we could use. The dorks with the whiny bitch comments are whiny bitches on here themselves -- look who's calling the kettle black.

I like Andrei as a player and always felt that Deron playoff squad was badly fit. He'd be great on a squad like this one that doesn't dominate the ball with a point. Run plays through him and good things happen. AK would have been amazing in a Westphal style system. He's also awesome at inbounding the ball. All that being said it seems obvious that Marvin is occupying the position so AK would be redundant or vice verse.
I'm not sure if you have any basis to this theory.

First of all, I've been a Jazz fan since they moved to Utah. I attended the very first game so your stereotyping of "AK haters" is ridiculous. Secondly, the only reason why AK's game suffered was due to his lazy *** effort. He didn't work hard. The only good season (his All-star) was mostly due to all the crappy players on the team. AK was "the man" on a very bad team and when more talented players were added Booz, Memo, and DW, AK cried about his role and basically tanked the SA series. Using AK 's European performance only shows homerism. AK is a great European player and a complimentary NBA.
AK's surprising early performance when he came into the NBA created a cult following in Utah that has gone way beyond objective. People have overrated him, some claiming he was or had potential to be a top 10 player in the NBA. Any reasonable person would laugh at that claim and wonder why AK is so beloved considering how lazy he was and how he wanted Sloan gone, wanted the ball more and tanked as soon as he got his big contract. The only rebuttal to us "AK haters" is to call us names or dismiss the facts as they don't even matter. AK had ten years to prove he could be the man and he failed miserable. AK certainly has talents but he is more a complimentary player and not the GOD that some people think he is. I DO NOT want AK on the Jazz he would only take minutes away from Hayward and Williams not because he is better but because he would whine like he did many times before.

So you're saying Williams is on his way to being better than AK?
I'm saying "better" encompasses quite a bit of criteria. Marbury blows Mo Williams out of the water with talent, but you'd be hard pressed to find someone that will take him over Mo. Also, there's no question Dwight is far, far better than Favors -- but Dwight is a bitch.

I'd be in favor of bringing AK back at the right price (no more than $7MM per year for no more than 3 years (2+team option)?), but how likely is that to happen? What are the odds/chances of AK returning now that we have traded for Williams?

I don't think I did, but you can correct me. AK is not nearly enough a "bad citizen" that it would ever be worth replacing him with good citizen Williams. AK is just a much better player than Williams. Marbury or Dwight aren't fair examples. AK never disrupted a team like they did.
