Jazz Have a Chance at Kaman

According to Ric Bucher via twitter (on the Hoopshype rumors), the Jazz are one of five teams with a chance at getting Chris Kaman, along with the Mavs, Pacers, Spurs, and Kings. Are the Jazz on this list because they've expressed any interest in Kaman or vice versa? I don't want the Jazz to sign Kaman. He's too injury-prone and the Jazz have plenty of big men. Although if he didn't care about playing time and was willing to bring back the Hulk Hogan hairstyle, I'd consider throwing a few million at him.

Just like the Mo trade preceding the most likely already finalized Harris trade? Christmas in Junely.

Jazz pursuing Kaman?

Ric Bucher: Source: teams still w/ a shot at Mayo (Mavs, Rockets, Pacers, Clippers, Knicks and Suns) + Kaman (Mavs, Pacers, Spurs, Kings and Jazz) Twitter

Seems like the last thing Utah needs is another BIG, but it could mean that something is on the horizon with one of the existing BIGS. Kaman still has game, but Millsap is moree versatile, Jefferson is a better scorer, and I wouldn't give up on Kanter or Favors anytime soon for an older and often injured Kaman. I don't see why Kaman would want to come to Utah over the other 4 teams listed, as with those 4 he would definitely start and with 3 of them have a good shot at being the best in the west. With Mavs losing out on Williams and Nash, I could see the Mavs as the lead destination given his relationship with Dirk from the German National Team. Would rather have Utah be in the parenthetical involving Mayo.

Can we get him to dye parts of his facial hair black too? Maybe put a clause in his contract that requires 2 hours a week in a tanning bed?

Don't forget marketing a vitamin line.

Can we do a S&T, bringing him in on the cheap (I'm thinking two years, 7M), and sending out Al Jefferson? This would open the door for Favors to start, and we'd still have Kaman and Kanter off the bench, the latter of whom would see more minutes as Kaman's time on the court needs to be tracked closely I feel.

Would the Hornets even want Big Al? I'm pretty sure they're ready to just hand the reins to Anthony Davis.

Would have to be $10mm to AJ's $15mm (with 7.5% max yearly salary declines I believe).

They could have Big Al at the 5 and Davis at the 4, where many see him anyway. Hell, if it doesn't work out, it was one year with him as he's an expiring, and who knows, they could even flip him come December. If it does, they presumably have his Bird Rights and therefore best dibs so to speak.

A leak like that is most likely generated by Kamans agent in an attempt to build leverage for a negotiation. There may be something to it, then again maybe not. Can't wait to find out.

BTW, nice work by KOC wrapping up two good pieces while the rest of the league was focusing attention and waiting for the big pieces to fall. The second tier guys get bid up after teams miss on the first tier, I expect Kaman to find a nice deal as someones constellation prize.

Would that be Orion or The Big Dipper?

This is what I thought. Is there more to this story? If this is just Utah signing him than no. If this is part of Utah sending Big Al out and Kaman comes in as that back up big then yes.
