Jazz have a full MLE to spend so here's a poll for where you think the Jazz should spend it.

If it's a combination or an area not mention please post what you think the Jazz should do

I'm not sure if they will spend it. In fact, I'd bet against it because I think KOC is hoarding cap space for next summer. Any MLE deal they make would eat into next year's cap space.

Unless it's a one year deal. I think Jazz should of gave their full MLE to Billups for a 1 year deal. He only got 4.3 million to stay with the Clippers and if he sucks, he is just another expiring contract which would be easy to trade

I was under the impression that a team can only use the mid-level exception every other year. If that is the case, they might be trying to save it until next summer to make more of an impact on free agency when all those contracts expire.

You're thinking of the bi-annual exception, which is almost useless in most situations.

i wouldn't use it, for exactly the reason colton states (2013). i also would hope that there's still an al trade coming to help us bone up the bench a little to the point where we don't need to use the MLE.

al for a couple of decent bench players -- a 20 mpg bench point guard who is a natural facilitator and a 4th big who can play 15 mpg.

The number of teams that can provide this kind of trade are very few.
CLE, IND, NOH, MIL, HOU....
I'm I forgetting anybody?

The point is that we don't need to spend a ton of time wildly speculating about this kind of transaction. We can be more focused.

What say ye?

yeah, i'm not actually EXPECTING such a trade. in fact, i think most signs point to the jazz being mostly done with transacting this summer. just saying what i would want in an ideal world.

and i don't need to be more focused... i'm a basketball fan and it's july. as long as KOC is focused, i can speculate.
