Pretty reasonable. I personally just like the kid so I like the signing for that price. Don't know what type of player he will be, and honestly don't think he'll last that long in the league, but I'd love to see him prove my super semi-educated opinion wrong.

I will say during his rookie year his jumper seemed like it had potential, but his sophomore year I hardly saw him took one.

Happy for him. He's a serviceable 5th big and who knows what could happen with injuries and things.

He needs to bulk up though if he wants to play the PF position properly.

Great for Jeremy, and good for the Jazz.
Jeremy gets some longterm financial security and the Jazz get a guy still with the potential to be a bench player who can change the energy and momentum of a game. I doubt anyone (myself included) thought Jeremy would ever be getting a 3-year contract from the Jazz when he was drafted. I remember espn had virtually no info on Jeremy when he was drafted, and it wasn't until after some posts by Hilltopper that we learned Jeremy could play and wasn't just some skinny guy who tested well athletically.

Chad Ford's analysis when Utah drafted Jeremy: "Evans is very athletic, but he's a 190-pound power forward. He's the second draft pick who didn't make our Top 100. As we can see, late second-round picks can be pretty random."

Going into 2012-13 I would love to see Evans get a legit shot as the backup PF off the bench (with Millsap and Favors starting). I think he would complement Kanter's abilities very well in the second unit for a few minutes each night.

It's a fairly low cost for a player with pretty good upside. If he adds some muscle and moves into a 4th big role he'll certainly be worth more than he's being paid. If he doesn't get larger and stays in that 5th big role he's still probably a good deep injury insurance and practice player. And for that kind of cash is not a terrible deal.

Hopefully, Jazz will spend some time developing and practicing 2-3 combinations of inbound plays designed for Jeremy to dunk it. We are in a desperate need to have those keeping in mind how clueless we were with 2-3 seconds left on the clock. That's the only thing that can justify such a contract for Jeremy Evans as he is right now.

I heard miller wants 3 more dunk trophys. Freakazoids being brought in full-time to teach Evans the rest of the tricks. Evans will be kept from the team to harbor any distractions it might cause the next three years.

So will he be on the summer league team?

Good old billy be here any minute now ready to argue the insanity of this deal and how it affects our 2013 cap space.
