What's new

Bulls looking to trade Korver.

No doubt we still need some shooting. None of our big men are stretch type players. We got Mo but also traded one of our best 3pt shooters. Depends on what they would want and if we think Murphy can play right away.

I have almost zero interest in him until Danny Green finds a home. (he hasn't, has he?)

Yes, I realize Korver is a better shooter. I take the dip in shooting for the vastly better defense.

EDIT: ****, I see he re-signed.

Got me there.
Marvin Williams >> Korver
Hayward >> Korver
Burks >> Korver

Korver was originally brought in for late game scenarios and to shoot FT's, since Deron and everybody else couldn't hit them late. With an oft-injured AK and oft-bricking Brewer and Miles, Kyle got more time at the wing than he should have. Glad to be rid of him.

We are talking about bringing in somebody who can nail 3s in order to open the floor up for our inside game. Now if Murphy can drain the NBA 3 then probably no reason to bring in Korver though.

At a horribly inflated price for what he does. He's a liability on the defensive end. If you're looking for a late game guy to shoot 3's and hit FT's, just sign Ahearn for the minimum. He shoots even better than Kyle.
I would much rather have Burks or Hayward on the court for a late bucket. They can get to the hoop and kick it back out to Mo for a 3. Now if you truly need a 3 and not a bucket and a foul on the other end, then yes, use the 14th roster spot on Ahearn who is cheap and would have a 1-yr deal.

Acquiring Korver just eats up cap space next season, when we want to have money to acquire a true impact player.

And to touch on what freak said, Kyle will NEVER be welcomed here again by either Greg or KOC. When the team needed his offense, he decided personal goals were more important.

I think The optimists in The Bulls FO think D-Rose will be back by the end of December/early January - they will probably try to run a point guard by committee until then. Earl Watson would be an excellent candidate - veteran, low pay, expiring deal. I can definitely see Utah proposing some sort of Watson for Korver deal - in fact I expect it.

Korver is expiring this year, and even that is only guaranteed for half a million. As for holding a grudge, I couldn't say for sure about Greg, but I have no doubt, whatsoever, that KOC would let bygones be bygones, if it meant improving the team. At least in this case.

As for the rest of your post, it's pretty clear that your opinion is clouded by your grudge. There are a lot of teams that would love to have Korver as a sharpshooter off the bench. You'll have to let me know when teams start knocking on Ahearn's door.

Burks, Hayward, Murphy, Mo in some sets possibly, aaaaaaaaaaannnnddd Korver. Because that's what we need. Our past taking time away from guys who are our future. Brilliant. Because it worked so well the first time.

I am torn. I thought he did good things during his first go around, but he is an overpaid specialist. If he would come back to Utah for the veteran's minimum or thereabouts, then I would do it. His ability to spread the floor and come off the curl would open up the middle for Favors, Jefferson, Millsap, and Kanter.
