What's new

The Dark Knight Rises

I don't think so. And if it did it would've balanced out. That dude was set to make a pile of money.

The movie does not come out until thursday in Germany. Oh, I can't wait to watch it. I think Nolan's Batman movies have reshaped the way superhero movies are percieved by the film industry.

Now this will forever be tainted a little in my mind. God bless Aurora, CO.

I was on such a high after watching it last night only to wake up to the horrible news. Anyway the movie is EPIC and finished up the trilogy perfectly.

Like one movie reviewer said....."the last 10 minutes of the movie is worth the price of admission alone"

Hey Beantown, the trailers give me a sense of this being a large scale conflict with score of cops/lawenforcement and Bane supporters fighting inmultiple locations.

Does the movie really have a feel of a large, chaotic fight or is that just good trailer making?

NO SPOILERS please!!!

You are right on, almost "war" like battles.

I was hoping it was something like this. That sense of scope is something that really intrigues me about this movie. Will be very good to see. Can't wait.

My new lady friend and I will probably go monday night when everyone is at "family home evening".

It's really really good but don't overhype it like some people do, and keep steering clear of spoilers. Any spoiler could ruin the ending. There's a couple little surprises.

Apparent Rush Limbaugh believes that you brain dead people who have seen this movie will associate Bane with Romney's Bain and will then vote for Obama.

“The movie has been in the works for a long time, the release date’s been known, summer 2012 for a long time,” he said. “Do you think that it is accidental, that the name of the really vicious, fire-breathing, four-eyed, whatever-it-is villain in this movie is named Bane?”

He added, “This movie, the audience is going to be huge, lot of people are going to see the movie. And it’s a lot of brain-dead people, entertainment, the pop-culture crowd. And they’re going to hear ‘Bane’ in the movie, and they are going to associate Bain. And the thought is that when they start paying attention to the campaign later in the year, and Obama and the Democrats keep talking about Bain, not Bain Capital, but Bain, Romney and Bain, that these people will think back to the Batman movie —’Oh yeah, I know who that is.’ There are some people who think it will work...Others think — “You’re really underestimating the American people who think that will work.”

Saw it last night. It was solid but the worst of the trilogy by far IMO. I have many a complaint about it to be honest which I'll post later today and would give it 2.5-3 out of 4 stars.

It's also Nolan's worst film by far IMO unless I'm forgetting something other than the trilogy, Inception, Memento and Insomnia.

Bad form Dutch. Bad god damn form. I take back the smile I got from seeing you had posted. You assclown.

Sometimes I wonder if some of you folks even watched the same movie.

I read a few posts that it was "epic" and that just the last 10 mins of the movie are worth the ticket prices.

Then I read a few other posts that say it was Nolan's worst film or the worst of the trilogy...

Jeez!

I can understand having different opinions of the movie. But why such a huge difference?

Did you even watch the same movie?

That really suprises you? Take almost anything in life and I am sure that you can find two people that have wildly different views on it.

Yes. It does surprise me. Otherwise I wouldn't be writing about it.

Have you seen a (comic book) movie so scrutinized?

I never saw anyone write that Dark Knight was the worst nolan had made. Sure, not everyone loved it. But I don't recall anyone on this board really writing anything critical about it. The debate wasn't whether it was good or bad but if it was good or great.

The debate was whether it was overhyped or not.

This movie thus far in the first 3 pages of the thread is described as "epic" "best of the trilogy" and as "worst made by Nolan" and "worst of the trilogy."

Did someone here walk into Ted thinking it was Batman or something?
