You only seem to care about the dollar amount. That is your problem. Nobody cares how much money the richest company in the history of the world profits.Don't validate Stonehenge. A total of something like $13 & change goes to China for iPad production. The rest goes to US engineers, logistics, transportation, & distribution, Germany, asian allies, and the rest of the world. The San Fransisco Fed put out a paper a couple years back on it and another group of economists did as well.
And then that $13 comes back to America as the current account balances, as it must.
They hire thousands of people to manufacture the iPad in China. If those people were hire4d in, say, Detroit instead, it would mean Apple makes a little less profit but thousands of currently unemployed people would have a decent job. If the money balances out in the end anyway, might as well put people to work.
