What's new

Kwame Brown

No, Kwame may be a bust, but he has proven to be a serviceable backup.

I personally would rather go with a guy who has potential since he might not play much with Okur being the back up center.

Kwame is not a good rebounder. Not bad but not good. Not a shot blocker and he has no post moves. He also doesn't have much of an outside shot. He has short arms.

He is a good man to man defender though. He has enough lateral quickness and is very strong in terms of not letting people back him down. But honestly I have never thought that was a problem for us. Okur, Millsap & Fesenko & now Jefferson don't really have a problem with guys backing them into the paint. Its usually lateral quickness or protecting the hoop from slashers. Contesting shots or blocking them. It was help defense that we have a problem with.

Fesenko clogs the lane better than anybody we can get in free agency. We should sign him and not worry about much else. He is probably one of the better shot blockers that we can get also.

Unless Kwame wants to take the Veterans minimum than I wouldn't sign him. Not worth anything else.

To be fair, Kwame is probably a better rebounder than Fess, who is a horrible rebounder. Fess only has size on Kwame, I would give Kwame an edge in every other category. Plus, I think Kwame could actually play 20 minutes without fouling out or getting tired.

I honestly don't think one has an edge over the other in rebounding. Also Fess doesn't get enough credit for tip balls and taking up space so other people get rebounds. Guys can't sneak in to get rebounds as easily. Sounds stupid but its true. He is not a horrible rebounder. He just needs experience.
Kwame has no moves or shot. So who cares if he is a little better. Fesenko's size is way more important than how Kwame is a little better at certain categories. He isn't even a real center. Millsap probably has a longer wingspan.

Kwame will never play 20 minutes a night even if we don't sign Fesenko.

Fesenko is the type of player that will improve with playing time. He barely has any basketball experience. Now I would rather have Etan Thomas even with is injury history rather than Kwame Brown. He is a joke.

I think everyone gets excited because he was a high draft pick and hope he can come around but look at his play and stats. He didn't provide anything great ever. He is below average is about every category. With stats or without.
