Another Williams?

Pass... Kanter has more upside. I might consider Millsap + Watson or Tinsley for Williams, Barea, and a 1st round pick. Or Williams for the GSW pick.

Looking at the wolves roster they need a 2 guard the most. They just traded Wes Johnson to Phoenix. Unless they feel budinger can play the 2 all they have is Malcolm lee. If I was them I would be asking for Alec burks for Derrick Williams. They would probably ask for Jeremy Evans also. I would have serious reservations about a williams for burks.

Wouldn't do it. Burks, if he doesn't start, could legitmately turn into a 6th-man of the year candidate in the next couple of years. I'd offer them Raja and the worse of Utah's picks next season. If they truly want to "dump" derrick, then lowball them.

Funny, I was looking into his situation a couple days ago. Can't figure out just WHAT he'd do for us, and sure don't want to give up much to get him...

It's safe to say that if the T'Wolves are shopping him than the "Derrick Williams at SF" experiment has failed miserably.

For more evidence of this failure see "We signed an old injury prone SF who can't shoot for 20 million dollars".

It's sad too, because he could have been a good PF if he had gone to Cleveland with Irving. Williams might be the newest poster child of why you shouldn't advertise yourself as a player who is going to make a major position change. He should have said "I'm only a PF" and he might have fallen to 4 and been in a good position for his career.

He who shall not be named!!!

Derrick Williams is a younger, less skilled basketball-wise, more athletic version of Paul Millsap. Not sure how that trade would make us better as a team...

I'm sorry, but this is one of those blanket statements that make no sense.

So you wouldn't trade Paul Milsap for Chris Paul? Or Hasheem Thabeet for Blake Griffin?

Surely, talent has something to do with it, right?

Uh.... not really. Who's going to give you Chris Paul for Millsap anyway?

Hasheem Thabeet for Griffin?? This.

None of those trades make sense.

He was not proposing those trades. He was simply showing how your general statement is false.

It's not false considering trades that might actually happen in real life.

How about Chis Paul for Andrew Bynum?
And that one probably wouldn't even happen without another player being added.... and that player would be a second string type big, and probably even a draft pick being added.

It's called potential. We already know what Sap is going to bring to the table. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Sappy but this kid is intriguing.

Na.... he's really not that intriguing.
The kid is basically a super-small forward.

I'd rather have Marvin Williams or Jeremy Evans any day.
One can shoot better than him, and the other can dunk higher.
