Mo Williams
Hayward
Marvin Williams
Favors
Al Jeff

That's easily our most complete line-up and gives us great depth off the bench. I'll be sorely disappointed if that's not what we see opening night.

Agreed. I really like that lineup. Very solid defensively, and offensively they'll be able to stretch the floor a bit. Defenses will have to be honest with us for once. What an impressive bench, too, though: Foye/Tinsley, Burks, Carroll (Evans?), Millsap, Kanter

Still makes the second team a little confusing. That means we go with foye and burks with millsap kanter and either tinsley or Watson.

Ahh yes, this is why I said (in the other thread) I wasn't opposed to starting Foye at SG with Hayward at SF. I can't decide. A trade needs to happen (Send Jefferson somewhere for prospects and/or picks?). No, nevermind that, Kanter isn't ready to start in this league.

Don't look at it as if all 5 starters have to come off the floor and you sub in 5 different players. In reality, most teams have a rotation of 8 players, with a 9th getting around 10 mins. And most teams always have a couple of starters on the floor at all times. Jazz have been an exception in the last few years due to their depth, and non-dominance by some of their starters.

If you put Kanter, Burks, Millsap and Foye on the floor together, it might mean leaving in Hayward or Williams to play SF, with Foye at PG. Or yes, the team could go small with Watson or Tinsley at PG. Grabbing Foye might mean Watson is on the block.

The below doesn't account for injuries - obviously there will be some along the way, nor garbage time. I could honestly see Foye becoming the backup PG with Burks at SG. Makes sense to have Burks be the playmanker on the 2nd unit with Foye spotting up for 3's.

48 mins * 5 players = 240 mins.

Favors, Millsap, Jefferson, Hayward, Mo Williams @ 30 mins/per = 150 mins
Marvin Williams, Burks @ 25 mins = 50 mins
Kanter, Foye @ 20 mins = 40 mins

Obviously, I left out Watson and Tinsley and gave no minutes to Evans, Murphy or Carroll. Perhaps Watson and Tinsley rotate games and get all the PG mins behind Mo. In that case, Foye and Burks play a bit less. More likely, I think KOC eventually trades Watson or Tinsley.

A full roster means a couple of guys are going to be inactive each game. It may also mean everyone's mins get pared a bit if no one is hurt. But that rarely happens. Odds are that at least a couple of players are going to miss a significant number of games. And in that scenario, PT sorts itself out.

I find it interesting that Alec Burks has more votes than Paul Millsap and that Foye is even.
I don't think it's much of a shot at Millsap, rather People think Favors has to start and they see Al as either a better compliment to Favors or they think Millsap would simply be better off the bench.

Personally, rather than have a POS like Marvin Williams start at the three, I'd start Sap there before going that route.

Favors covers up Jefferson's porous defense. When Millsap is out there with Jefferson, it seems to magnify (his defense - or there lack-of) and the team gets destroyed inside. It just makes sense to pair Favors with Jefferson.

Guess SL pretty much settled the Kanter/Jefferson conundrum. I remember how many were pushing to trade Jefferson so Enes could start. He has zero votes right now. Hmmm....

I'm shocked at how few people voted for Millsap. Five? I voted Mo, Hayward, Millsap, Favors and Jefferson. I know this goes against the grain but this was highly productive last year and with Mo taking Harris' place, and Hayward likely more consistent from downtown, I see our perimeter shooting from these two spots in our starting unit much improved over what it was last season alongside those three starting bigs.

Guys we have, best starting 5 is Mo, Hayward, Marvin, Favors, and Al. I suspect it will be Sap and Al to start which doesn't bother me. I'm very curious to see how Ty subs with Foye and Burks playing 2 and 3. That's not ideal.

This is why I wouldn't be surprised to see Foye start.
