Romney's VP Choice

I disagree because blacks are too married to the Democrat party...90+% voting block is too hard to crack.
I think you have to go Latino if you are going for the minority angle...there are some Indian possibilities too.

That is just wrong, and although I am white, I am offended.

Paul Ryan apparently is the choice.

LOL.

You know, it's a real bad sign for Romneyites when Democrats are celebrating your pathetic VP selection.

Paul Ryan. LOL

Obama, "Oh man, this is going to be too easy. USA vs Nigeria."

Just when I thought the right couldn't get any loonier after McCain/Palin, they come up with this ticket. LOL

Get real. They could have picked anyone and you would be saying the same thing. Let's not pretend you actually would have said anything different if Rubio or anyone else was picked.

Nice try.

Read post #9 and talk to me after.

Ryan, a tea party nutcake, does nothing to help Romney. The radical right would have already voted for Romney for their hate of Obama. Meanwhile, Ryan doesn't help Romney gather any independent voters, minorities, or older folks. His ridiculous plan just gave the Democrats months of ammunition to use for campaign ads and debates.

Rubio was the clear choice. The GOP needed to go moderate here and get someone who could attract the minority (especially the Latino vote). ryan doesn't do that hence why Romney is going to fail.

Seriously, how does Ryan help Romney? Who votes for Romney now that he has Ryan who wouldn't have voted for him in the first place?

I don't think Romney can beat Obama, but your post is just silly and unintelligent.

He may:

American Catholics--the largest single denominational voting bloc in the country.

In my own research I have noted that when white conservative evangelicals and conservative Catholics lock arms (as they did in the 2004 election) they are a force to be reckoned with.

And these folks wouldn't have already voted for Romney? Please...

Romney gains nothing with this pickup. But he basically seals the loss of independent voters, older folks (who weren't leaning towards Romney anyway), and minorities. A tremendous force in their own right, cupcake.

Folks, Romney was already losing in the polls. What did he do to gain ground? Paul Ryan. Nope, not gonna do it folks.

I'm not sure it's a mystery that folks aren't going to like Paul's plan... Tax breaks for the wealthy and cuts to programs for most of Americans.

After seeing the thread title and then a bunch of these "This message is hidden becasue The Thriller is on your ignore list." I am so glad I didn't have to deal with all the idiocy he must be spouting. You have to work at being that intellectually dishonest and blinded. it doesn't come naturally.

I am glad you know more than the people who professionally poll for the Romney campaign. Do you really think he didn't try to take every aspect into account before making this decision? You are blind if you believe that. We don't know the story behind Rubio. Maybe he truly didn't want to be the VP. He obviously was not going to guarantee Romney a Florida victory anyway. In the end, they could have brought Mother Teresa back to life and made her his running mate and you would have said she was too nice and Obama would clearly destroy that ticket.

Actually, the Catholic vote can go either way.

The Catholic vote is the 2012 bellwether

In the five presidential races prior to this one, the candidate who carried the Catholic vote won four of them. The lone exception was in 2000 when then Vice President Al Gore won the Catholic vote by two points (and the popular vote by .5 percent) but lost the presidency to then Texas Gov. George W. Bush.

As for independent voters. I think they tend to lean conservative on economics, and are put off by social issues.

https://www.rasmussenreports.com/pu...ministration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 46% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns the vote from 44%. Five percent (5%) prefer some other candidate, and four percent (4%) are undecided. See tracking history.

Typically, vice presidential picks have little impact on the outcome of the election. With an incumbent running to keep his job, the race is primarily a referendum on the president. Today, Obama’s Job Approval rating has fallen to the lowest level of 2012 (see below).

Didn't you know that Rasmussen is a right wing organization determined to destroy anything Obama? At least this is what liberals tell me all the time.

Yeah, I hear the same crap but when you have pollsters pulling the crap that CBS/New York Times/Quinnipiac are pulling it's hard to take anything they say seriously.
