BYU Football 2012

UGLI getting desperate now.

However, the problem still remains that BYU will have to play the majority of these tough games early in the season.
First, that's not true. Second, it doesn't matter anyway.

It will be close to impossible for them to achieve schedule balance until they find their way into a conference.
Actually not true either. When you are locked into a conference you are locked into those teams and the schedule. You can't control the quality year to year. Most conferences are back-loaded with their schedules meaning if you are conference-affiliated and want to schedule tougher teams you have to do it at the start of the season (Michigan).

BYU has Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, and Oregon State on the later half of the schedule this year. No way does that happen within a conference. BYU also can make their schedule more difficult or easier within 2-3 years. No other college but Notre Dame has that kind of flexibility. Everyone else's SOS will be tied to the strength of their conference.

Really? They should be knocked for the deal because byu announced it as a "1 for 1 we are big boys now" deal when it's likely just another one and done. Keep in mind Utah State plays at Wisconsin this year too.

You don't see the difference between the 2 for 1's and 1 and dones that byu is getting and the one for ones that Utah is? Kind of a night and day difference and a good opportunity for lulz to be had at byu's expense.

So basically when byu has a schedule full of san jose state, new mexico state ect etc.... you knock them.
Then when they go out and get a game against wisconsin (on the road no less) you still knock them.
That is why you suck to discuss byu/utah football with.... you are WAY too biased. No matter what byu does you will just continue to be a hater.
That is why talking to jazzman about local college football is much more enjoyable.
He actually has the ability to not be a dick all the time.

Getting Notre Dame and GaTech in October is nice, but once again, your November schedule is Idaho, San Jose St, and New Mexico St. Spin it how you want, that's awful. It means BYU fans get their last taste of a meaningful game a full month before the season is even over. I also see no end in sight for the November scheduling woes. Perhaps you can get Notre Dame to agree to a year November game which would be great, but you're just not going to find any quality opponents willing to break away from conference scheduling in November just to accomodate BYU.

Again, props for the schedules they have been making. They've got some might good opponents lined up. I just don't see how a BYU fan can stay engaged through the month of November year in and year out when all they have to look forward to is lower tier WAC schools.

Of course I suck to discuss the cougs with. I hate byu and always will. If byu did something good I would just not even talk about it. Luckily that has not been a problem for the last few years.

My simple point is that one and dones and 2 for 1's with big programs are not impressive whatsoever. Anyone can get those at anytime. If byu fans are happy with their scheduling good for them, I guess.

No that's you spinning, Guy. You said the tough games will be early in the season. I called you out on it and now you want to move the goalposts. "K, well maybe there are quality opponents later in the season but your last 3 games suck so there." Gimme a break, Hater. You have like two quality games this year and you're gonna throw stones at BYU's schedule?

If you want to change your argument and focus on the last 3 games of the season or apparently a month out of the year than fine but that wasn't your original argument, Spinjob.

But let's pretend it was. BYU's 2013 schedule has Wisconsin on Nov 9th and Notre Dame on Nov 23rd.

So if it does turn out to be a home-and-home series as originally announced, I assume this means that you'll have some complimentary words for the Cougars? Or will you still be a hater?

BYU has an away game with WSU in 2013 that is not scheduled yet (GASP!).

You act as if the fact you hate byu means that you have to be a dick and be blinded by anything good byu does.

I guess you just must be weak.
I hate the utes but can see that john white is a stud and utes d line is awesome.

You see, instead of letting my emotions control me, i choose to control my emotions.... You should try it some time.

Hahaha. What's the last good thing that has happened to byu? Honest question.

I don't hate byu with any rage, it's sports hate. I'm friends with plenty of byu fans, the people I work with are byu fans, and my roommates are byu fans. They know that I know that byu sucks though.

Do they think you are a moron about it sometimes?

This was my initial response to the Wisconsin announcement.

I'll definitely be impressed if its a true home and home with Wisconsin. Everything I've read says that Wisconsins return to Provo isnt announced yet. It could still be a 2 for 1 or one and done, or something where Wisc schedules the return game for 2019 and eventually buys it out. Have you heard different?

Of course I'd be impressed. I'd also be impressed if byu made it to a BCS game or got invited to a major conference. None of these things are ever going to happen.

to answer your question about whats the last good thing to happen to byu: Getting out of mtn west.... espn.... kyle van noy.... cody hoffman.... ross apo... scheduling notre dame, wisconsin, georgia tech, boise state, texas..... beating oklahoma.... watching collie and pitta play well in the nfl.... being ranked in the top 25 almost every year..... 10 win seasons every year.... new scoreboard at lavel edwards stadium..... having more fans in the stadium for a game agaisnt new mexico state than the utes get in thier stadium against a team like usc..... jimmer fredette...... being ranked in the top 25 in basketball year after year.... those are just a few.

There have also been alot of negative things to happen to byu recently as well (54-10), but to say nothing good happens to byu is again you just being a blind dick about things.
