I was envisioning two bloody MJs entreating some overly sweaty ref whose googly eyes shift from one GOAT to the other in fear.

Lol at the idea of so many players playing against themselves. How do you call a foul when Jordan is guarding Jordan? Is such a thing even possible? Seems more mind blowing than the Time Machine that got them there.

That's a good point. Older Jordan would get the calls because he is the vet. Same with some other players. Therefore 96 might have the edge.

Whooaaa Rman40, you can't just drop a bomb like that and not include any type of argument.

Shaq and Olajuwon both coming off NBA season where each averaged 27 a game on the same team. Did you see what Pau Gasol was able to do. Can you imagine what Shaq & The Dream would do to Chandler and Kevin Love.

Which two centers would you take out of Shaq, Ewing, Robinson and Olajuwon?

I'd say Shaq and either Robinson/Olajuwon.
Between Robinson and Hakeem, it is not even a contest. Hakeem 400 days a year, because he doesn't have Ken Doll junk.

And really, Hakeem belongs above any center in history not named Kareem or Russell, IMO.

All you really have to ask is which team had Jordan in his absolute peak and vote accordingly.

My bad, I misread it as "92' would beat 12'" and I was cheesin' on him for making such an obvious statement. I am ruhtard.

I agree, 96' would beat 12', and give 92' a good game.

Let's talk more about Hakeem for a minute: he played the best defense of anyone during an era of tough defense, and he scored effortlessly in that same era. Shaq by his own admission has said that Hakeem is the only player to make him cry. Wilt played no defense in an era of no defense, and got his points against an army of stiffs disinterested in defense. Hakeem has done more with less than any other basketball player in history in regards to accompanying star power. He won a title with Kenny Smith as the second-best player on his team. Who else can that be said for?

Best post-player ever. Best defender ever. Everything you can dream of as your center.

I agree. I am a big fan of Hakeem as well. He was so well rounded. I remember the Jazz playing against him and he was so tough. You just couldn't stop him no matter what you did. Shaq you could slow him down every once in a while.

I was not that familiar with Hakeem or his game so while I knew he was great I was not aware he was all that. So my perfect team would have the 92 roster with Shaq over Ewing, Hakeem over Robinson and Isiah over Laettner.

A pity 2012 Dream Team didn't get one single vote so far. They only lack in center position. Other than that they are really talented. I went for 1992. They were just so damn good, and they went up against some tough competition that include Drazen and Vlade at their best.
