"I like J-Kidd," Cuban added. "He's a good guy. But I just thought that was wrong. You can't put a guy's number in the rafters when he decides he doesn't want to be there."
Cuban was quick to point out that the also departed Jason Terry could have his jersey retired, because he was totally forthright and honest throughout the entire process.
Instead of his jersey, wouldn't it be more appropriate to hang a "wifebeater" with Kidd's name on it from the rafters?
Discuss.
I love Cuban on so many levels. Don't know if this deserves the attention it's getting b/c Kidd played there a short time, but I think the substance is worth discussing.
Cuban himself admitted that his feelings were hurt over the matter. Just give it time. Once Kidd retires, he and Cuban will get together and move past their differences. Kidd will get his jersey retired by the Mavs while Cuban is still the owner. Although MoTown is correct that it should be a wifebeater getting retired for him.
I don't care, whatever you all decide.
It's typical immature Cuban. Kidd didn't blow up the championship team. He doesn't owe loyalty to that. He is old and doesn't want rebuild or retool, or whatever. Who can blame him.
If that is why Kidd left I should say. I guess Kidd could have slept with Cuban's daughter.
I'm not sure Kidd even deserves it anyways.
What did I just write?

The Nets should retire Kidd's jersey.
