Kobe Settles Lawsuit with Estate of Grizzlies Fan

Cases like this lawsuit are what have truly damaged the average Americans faith in the legal sysytem.

A couple notes:

1) To a lawyer it is patently obvious that the reason they alleged greater than $75,000 in damages was so that they could have access to federal court instead of state court. $75,000 is the statutory threshold for subject matter jurisdiction for the federal courts when jurisdiction is premised on the idea that the parties are from different states.

2) Does a disgusted Kobe getting a little too intentionally rough with a fan sound all that crazy? Really?

3) I'm shocked there's no video of the incident given how consistently Lakers games are broadcast.

I like your first and third points. As for the second, I'm kind of skeptical. I know Kobe gets away with a lot of elbows and crap on the court, but I really don't see him taking out any agression on a fan. He might have, but I don't think so.
