Anthony Randolph

If the Warriors are shopping Randolph, what if the Jazz got interested as well? Wolves have the forth pick (I believe) and if they are interested in a PF, maybe we could convince them of AK for it. Although AK's contract is more of an asset at this point than a liability.

What sayest ye guys?

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors have had discussions about a trade that would send forward Anthony Randolph to the Timberwolves, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the talks.

No trade is imminent, but the Timberwolves have strong interest in acquiring the 20-year-old Randolph. The Warriors, who own the sixth pick in this year's NBA draft, would like to move up to get a higher selection. Minnesota has the fourth pick.

The 6-10 Randolph, who left LSU after one season, played only 33 games last season, averaging 11.6 points and 6.5 rebounds before suffering a season-ending ankle injury.

Randolph was putting up some sick numbers before he got hurt. yes, it was playing the fun-and-gun Nelson style, but still... it seems like he can really play.

I don't understand the hype everyone has with this guy. He had a couple good games against us, and pretty much sucked it up everywhere else. I mean, yeah sure, I trade Kouf for him, but they sure as hell won't take that.

1. He's 20 years old.
2. Unlike KoKo, he has athletic ability flying out of his ***.

Have you seen him dunk and block shots, he is incredibly talented. GS needs a SF and like AK. I would love to some how to get Anthony and Maggette and that 6th pick even if it takes to give up Tomic and the Memphis pick. Get involved KOC for once

Historically the Warriors have asked a high price for Randolph and the Wolves have acknowledged they are still doing so now.

If they traded Randolph on the cheap the local fans would riot. Keep in mind that I wouldn't expect a move away from one of their better assets right now simply because the ownership situation is in flux.

Wait, all it takes to get Randolph AND Maggette, AND the #6 is to add Tomic and the Memphis pick? And if that doesn't happen, it's KOC's fault? What type of fantasy world are you living in?

No you idiot in addition add our 9th pick and Ak they get 2 first round picks, AK, Koufus and Tomic

The top two assets in such a deal is Randolph and the #6. AK, 9, Koufos, Tomic and a non lottery first round pick at an indeterminate time that may never materialize is not quality enough for GSW to bite, especially since there are rumblings that Love + #4 is not quality enough for Randolph and #6 in their eyes.

There is no deal that involves Maggette. Ever. We don't have the chips for Randolph. If the Jazz wanted to try something with Golden State, they should offer Koufos and Price for Wright. Yeah, GS probably wouldn't take it. But there are a few tiny advantages for them. Beyond Curry and Ellis, they don't have another PG on the roster (Watson likely to sign elsewhere.) But they might also prefer to have Koufos, cheaper with an extra year on his rookie deal. It's a longshot, but I'd make the phone call.

I know I've asked this tons of times on this board but why the hell would Utah want Maggette?

Any deal with Maggette involved should be immediately generate a laugh from KOC and a dial tone for GS's GM to hear.

Maggette gets too much ****.

GS aren't giving up #6 AND Randolph in any kind of believable scenario. I'd rather have #6 since that likely means Wesley Johnson and I think there are a lot of question marks surrounding Randolph.

20 points 5 rebs 3 assists, tell me thats not good. How bout you give me a reason why you don' want him. Oh he can create his shot unlike anyone on the Jazz except D Will and gets to the free throw a ton. Why don't you get some knowledge before you run your mouth off at every player, ****!

Those stats are based on Golden State's offense. Maggette has a usage rate higher than Boozer and Williams, something that wouldn't happen in Utah. His defensive rating is actually high, which surprises me, as he's been labeled as a bad defender. Still, he's actually quite the black hole on offense, which is undesirable in the Jazz system as a wing.

Maggette is their offense and gets a ton of touches and opportunities because of it. I'll give him a little credit he shot >50% this year. But he is a career 45% shooter and shot the 3 worse than any of our wings this year. Hell he's almost as bad from there as Brewer. He will not get near that many touches in Utah's offense and his contract is as bad as AK's. He is also not a great defender (what the Jazz need at the wing right now) if anything he's an average to below average defender. Maggette is a player that needs a ton of touches to be successful and he will not get that here, when he is not getting it I have every confidence he will quite on this team and become a problem in the locker room, JMO though.

Overall he makes too much and he does not fit the needs of this team.

So instead of attacking me why don't you try to explain why you want him and answer my question as to why the Jazz would want him.

Iverson put up better #'s than these but I never wanted that loser either. For the same reason's. If anything Iverson would have been a better fit than Maggette.
