To actually contribute to this thread, I think that NAOS simply wants you and Stoked to admit that this was an especially ludicrous political speech, and an absolute embarrassment to the name of proper political representation of Americans. Moreso than your 'average' amount of lies told in any sort of political speech. Stoked brought up Clinton's address. I'd say it was on a similar level. I'm not saying this as a democrat-apologist (although I am more left-wing than right), I simply watched excerpts of it last night, and I was a little sad, more than anything. Integrity in political figures is absolutely vanishing.
Which particular speech by a Democrat was as deserving of a thread? You are constantly insisting that the two sides are engaging in this dishonesty in a basically equal way. So, which speech has the 5+ distinct whoppers that you see mentioned here?

That may be one of the stupidest lies ever. That said, it was in personal defense, and not a lie to besmirch another person. It falls far short of Ryan's mess.

Okay. I think this is where the disconnect is happening. To some it is very important to make that distinction. I personally am just growing absolutely sick from popular media, and am disgusted by how politics are handled on a massive scale. The fact that you need to lie, and deceive THIS MUCH to get votes simply defeats the purpose in this day and age is almost depressing.
