BYU Football 2012

byu's gonna get destroyed in boise. Worst scheduling idea ever.

Highly emotional game + 3 days preparation (You know Bronco took Sunday off) = uh oh.

Boise State hasn't impressed me too much this year. This is going to be an interesting game. I may even stomach the smurf turf enough to watch it.

Question to BYU fans, is swearing publicly against the honor code? There is a video of one of the BYU players swearing at a Ute fan after the game (I am in no way claiming that the Ute fan did or didn't deserved it.)

I will post a link and I will not embed because I don't want to get an infraction. (Note: there is profanity... it rhymes with truck)

(I removed the link...)

Do you think he will get suspended for this?

Oh, you mean this?

EDIT: Got warned. Shame on me.

It's going to happen. It's unfortunate that it does happen, but you can't expect it not to. Although in this instance, it was the kid who was in the North End Zone 75 minutes before the game trash talking and egging on season ticket holders. It's also the kid who prematurely celebrated the field goal before it actually hit the post.

I don't see why you nancies are all up in arms over a "fudge you". I'm sure you hear it all the time.

No reason to be up in arms about it. To me it just illustrates a point that I already knew: Despite the "Higher Standard" persona BYU tries to project, their kids aren't really that much different from the kids on most other teams. Had BYU won that game, and a Ute player gave the big F-U to a BYU fan, the usual suspects would be in here making the usual "class" comments, etc.

To me, a kid just lost an extremely emotional game and got caught up in the moment. The only reason it's getting any play is because of some silly belief by BYU and it's fans that "our players don't do that sort of thing". Obviously, Ute fans are going to pounce all over it.

Exactly. If this is the only thing "wrong" this kid does, his parents should be proud. I know that if my kid has a problem with dropping the f bomb after an extremely emotional loss to your rival, but is otherwise living the gospel standard, I'd be okay with that.

Thank you for seeing the post for what it was and actually giving an insightful comment on it.

Apparently, I (and everyone else) have grossly overestimated the size of the ESPN TV deal for BYU.

https://espn.go.com/college-footbal...ence-divided-14th-football-member-sources-say

BYU and ESPN also have an eight-year television deal worth nearly $4 million a year through 2018 with an option for 2019, sources said. The deal also allows BYUtv, which reaches 55 million homes, to broadcast one home game and rebroadcast every home game and every game ESPN has the rights for.

Wow. That's some serious, serious cash right there. SOOO much better than the $30 mil per season the U will be getting between the TV deal and the PAC-12 Network when fully vested.

Yawn! Another conference chasing BYU? What a surprise!

As I've always said, it's never been about money at BYU and anyone that thinks so is pretty dumb. But go ahead and chase the almighty dollar to your heart's content.

That deal is about exposure and you can't beat the exposure and opportunity a contract with ESPN gives you. But Utes will never know that feeling. You coattailed BYU for decades and now you can coattail the pac-12, who wishes they would've picked someone else. And it's funny they don't even have to pay full share yet. That's a slap in the face.

Are you just blinded by hate or just plain dumb?

Never been about money? for a year after BYU got the contract all cougarboard would talk about is how "much"money BYU was receiving. That was all the smack BYU fans were throwing out for quite some time. But yet your moronic side always shines through.
