Here it is jazzfanz, the return of Utah Jazz Survivor.

The game is pretty simple. Each round you will vote one player off the team. This will help determine who jazzfanz considers to be the Jazz' best assets.

Things to consider:

Length and terms of contract, player's potential, player's trade value.

For example, Big Al might be a better NBA player than Enes Kanter at this moment, but who is more valuable to the Jazz as an asset?

I voted for Kanter. He's a project (although I think a very good project) and I think the rules of the game are assest right now. That's why I voted for him.

Kanter has immense potential, is probably top 3 in trade value, and is on a freaking rookie contract. How are people voting for him?

Yeah this is what I was thinking. How are people seriously choosing Kanter and Burks? I'm not berating those that did. I am just truly curious as to what their thought process on that was. I see the Four (Favors, Hayward, KANTER and BURKS) as essential to this team going forward.

I think it's just people trying to **** up the game. If you click on the number to see who voted it's just rando's you've never heard of.

to me I guess it doesn't matter because this is going to end up with either Hayward or Favors in the end.

looks like i missed round 8 altogether (busy weekend)... see ya, al. might be a tad bit early for al, but really everybody else that's left is an "asset" in both basketball terms and asset terms, so i can no longer use the "asset" argument to keep al around and stand in front of guys who need the progress. so i support, retroactively, the voting off of jefferson.

this round is a little tougher for me, but i went with mo. i still don't get the marvin vote, as the guy has potential that we might not see yet. with mo, we've already seen his BEST-CASE scenario and it basically adds up to a relatively irrelevant point guard. at his best he's nowhere near a top-5 PG in the league, and at his worst he's probably not even top-10 or top-15.

marvin, though, is in that spot where he has enough career behind him to be considered "proven" on a certain level, but enough ahead of him that he could still make some improvements. honestly, he may wind up to be a better jazzman in the long term than even someone like burks or (less likely) kanter. i know that thought won't sit well with people, but my point is just that he both potential and proven abilities.

well there weren't a lot of "rules" set forth, so i think it's up to people's interpretation. personally, i've been voting based on a blend of potential, current abilities, how they rank as an asset, as well as who i think will be more important in the future of the jazz. by that logic, i would probably take millsap over kanter, kanter over burks... but i could see how someone could reach a different conclusion if their criteria were different from mine.

Which is why I ask them to explain how they got there.

But soem of the choices are outlandish. I do not see Millsap over Kanter that way. I can see that. But people like Kanter and Millsap have been gettign votes for the last several turns. Are people really honest in saying Evans over Millsap? Or Tinsley over Kanter?

I'd like them to offer up how they see it.
