BYU Football 2012

I am not going to get into who is better but Utah won the game BYU had their chances and they blew it. Besides not wanting to go through 40+ pages of ranting between BYU/Utah fans who think the world evolves around this game. Personally, I think the Utah loss and the BSU loss are the coaches fault for starting Nelson. The guy is tough but he sucks throwing the ball.

I am still confused about Bronco's decision to go for two at (BSU). Your defense has shut down a pathetic BSU offense all game. BSU has passed up several opportunities to even try a field goal and you decided to put the whole game into one play. Kick the extra point and I think your chances are better to win in OT.

I hope Bronco has the courage to go with the young kid and not go back to Nelson because BYU has little chance of having a decent season if they stick with Nelson.

For the life of me I don't see how anyone could be ok with that call. It's essentially telling your defense, who was playing lights out, that you have no faith in them.
Like I said, I can see an argument the other way. I mean comon if he makes it no one says a thing. But he didn't and that's ultimately on Bronco. Even if he had faith in Hill he probably should've gone for OT just because Doman's call on the 2-point call was most likely to suck.

To me, Bronco's decision showed how little faith he had in his offense.

Wash St. just lost to the worst college team I've ever seen... Colorado...

Now all of a sudden that "signature" win against Leach looks even worse...

As of right now, what "win" do we have? Weber St?

Boy BYU better hope for a damn good showing against Notre Dame and Utah St. Otherwise, this season might quickly become the worst under Bronco...

Dang! That lose to the Utes looks really bad now. And Oregon State looks legit. November can't come fast enough. LOL!

Good thing BYU has a bunch of chumps on their schedule or they may join Utah in being ineligible for a bowl game.
That was exactly the plan I'm sure. I mean, comon, if you're not in a BCS bowl it really doesn't matter after that. So they got that locked up preseason with the insta-bowl and weak opponents. Then scheduled tough opponents just in case they are good and want a shot at the title. Well, they are obviously not good so now it's just a race to 6 wins. At this point why not roll with the future.

Hill most likely starting given Riley is hurt (and sucks) plus Hill is taking all the practice snaps and it's Hawaii.

It kind of pisses me off that he even tried playing injured. I like tough football players, but you've still got to be around 90% of your normal self to not completely hurt your team, especially when you play the most important role on the field.

How long til coug fans start claiming they'd be undefeated and headed for a BCS bowl if Hill had started all year? (ala Nelson over Heaps last year)

Or is that already happening?

Agreed. Love his mentality but there comes a point you have to do what is right for the team. But I don't expect a player to know that. A coach should though.

We would have won 9 national championships if he hadnt gone on a mission, would have left high school early, and came straight our of 7th grade!

I dont know about saying we would be undefeated if HILL started over nelson all year.... I would say that if byu had a typical byu qb playing this year then we would be undefeated so far. For instance if max hall or john beck was the qb on this particular team then i feel pretty confident saying we would be undefeated right now.

BTW i never thought we would have been undefeated with nelson in instead of heaps last year. I always thought nelson sucked and played a bunch of cupcakes to look good.

I dont think nelson is starting. I think it is going to be hill. Either way i think we win by right around that 25 pt mark.

And to the question ugli asked earlier about byu being undefeated with hill starting: I think byu would be undefeated right now with hays, ratliff, brian johnson, and either of the usu qb's that they have right now.
I think nelson is the reason for both of the losses so far. Now with hill being a freshman i think we still would have lost at least one of those games. (most likely the utah game.)
