Listening to Kanter's inteview with Locke and he just said he's at 242. Take it with the grain of salt, but he said it.
Not sure I buy it. Muscle while more compact is heavier. He looked extremely ripped. I'd say he was over 240.
Kid was bulky with 5-6 percent body fat, weighing like 259 lbs in the draft combine. Now he looks much more ripped and leaner, arguably like 3-4 percent body fat. He looks much slimmer on some current pictures... I do really think that he might be around 240 lbs...
He went to Turkey weighing around 270 lbs. In two weeks over there, he gained 23 pounds due to the great cooking of his mother (weighing 293 lbs, almost Big or Fat Al category). He came back and lost like 52 pounds in two months with hardwork and better food. Now he finally weighs around 240 lbs (I think he said 242 lbs). Reason for this change were the talks he had with his coach and other people that saw him a little bit out of shape. He also wasn’t satisfied as he looked at himself in front of a mirror.
In addition, Earl Watson said that Kanter has more confidence now and that he has an incredible body and is in great shape. He would also play above the rim now and finish with dunks on people. Kanter also added that he moves better and is a lot quicker.
What I want to ask now is whether Enes is too light to play the Center position. I mean, Big Al has like 60 pounds on him. With better explosiveness and quickness, Enes seems to be better suited to play the Power Forward position and can literally overpower his opponents with his strength. I hope Favors becomes our Center of the future with Kanter becoming the Power Forward as he should be bigger.
6‘11‘‘, 240 and arguably like 3 percent body fat? This kid can’t play heavy minutes at the Center position, just saying. He looked very ripped but a little bit slimm on some of his pictures.
Well it appears that he is. I am glad he is ripped and what not. He is probably even stronger and that was already one of his major assets. Problem, as mentioned in this thread already, is can he still play heavy minutes at the 5?
I don't buy the 3-4% body fat. That's the percentage of marathon runners or bodybuilders at competitions. Of course it depends on how the measurements are done.
Um, arguably? I suppose anything is arguable. But I highly doubt Kanter is 20% leaner than the second leanest NBA player.
Personally, I think him getting down to about 255-260 would have been better but what the **** do I know? As he ages, I'd like to see him work his *** off at P3 and such, becoming as athletic and explosive as his body allows, but yet lift his *** off and gain some weight, like Hayward did, of lean muscle, getting back up to around 260.
Yeah I was just thinking I'd like to see him add a good 15 pounds and be around that weight as well.
