What's new

BYU Football 2012

Why would they be? BYU should be favored in that game. BYU lost two games by a total of 4 points while playing a QB that had an injured back. Vegas knows what's up.

And that QB is coming back... And that QB has never actually looked good.

Seriously folks, when has Riley ever looked very good against decent/good/great competition?

He doesn't need to be great, he just needs to play like he can when healthy. That's good enough this year. If he is healthy and plays decently, BYU is ranked again in two weeks. Or if they just keep starting Hill, they'll be ranked in two weeks. They'll beat Utah State and Oregon State no problems.

Although, I personally wouldn't play him again because Taysom Hill is better than him today and has far more upside, but I think BYU's coaches are ultimately scared of having Hill start on that Notre Dame/Georgia Tech(although Tech doesn't look very good) road trip and I think with all the history between Nelson/Utah State it's going to be doubly hard for them to sit him come Friday. I hope not, but I'll be attending that game with the expectation of seeing Nelson start.

Nelson at his best is a decent running QB who will average 2-3 picks and cannot throw the ball more than 20 yards down field.

I cannot remember a single game where he looked "good enough" to beat any good team.

Utah St. isn't just good... We're talking about a team that should be undefeated having beaten a Big 10 power at their place.

Utah St. dumped the same Utah team which dumped us.

Gotta go Hill or bust this year. Screw Nelson. We already know what Tebow can do.

I should note that I'm not being an arrogant BYU fan and totally discounting them. My previous statements about that game had some huge 'ifs' in them. There is no way Riley Nelson is healthy, his injury is one that nags you until you let it rest for a long time. So if he starts, that's going to be bad sign number one.

I love the way Utah State's DC called the USU/Utah game. Their bring the house/fearless mentality(if they are still playing that way - haven't watched them since) is scary with the way BYU's O-Line has played and the fact that Jamal - 17 year old - Williams will have to pick up blitzes more often now that Mike Alisa is out, which I don't know if he can or not but it's going to be something they try to exploit. Keeton is nice, they have a couple of gritty WRs, and their running back looks like a good dual threat, I'm worried about his ability to catch out of the backfield.

My confidence is firmly rooted in BYU's defense being able to hold their offense in check(let's say under 21) however because I think they are as good as they are ranked(#5 overall right now) and being good enough on offense to win. That's it. Utah State could easily win, no doubt about it. But I don't think BYU has the same psychosis problems against Utah State that they seem to have against Utah these days so they aren't going to be giving away points at home here without USU earning them.

9 does seem to high.
Vegas must think Hill is starting.

When BYU looks to bounce back from a tough loss to the Aggies they'll be wearing black uniforms for the Homecoming game against Oregon State.

I like the uniforms but think it's silly that BYU scheduled a tough opponent for the Homecoming game.

When your desperate for a hot girl to go out with you, and you've been turned down repeatedly, when she finally says you can grab a cup of coffee as "friends", you don't get too picky about the date.

Aggies are gonna **** all over you guys. Sorry.

Like the dog that gets excited and pees and poops all over the place? I can see that I guess.
Thanks dal, and it figures an analogy like this would come from you. Did jf finally agree to skype with you or something?

So you say as you pee yourself from the excitement of this post. Nice one, good job daly.

P.S. What's with the PKM fixation? Can you go 3 posts without a reference, reply, or thought of him?

They're soulmates JazzSpazz. Is it so wrong to constantly reference your soulmate?
