I don't know, but it makes my thighs burn.
It burns all the way down to your thighs!?! Sheesh.

Hayward is working on floaters, etc.
Best news of the day.
I KNOW!!! Mid-range game, floaters, runners.
He will make the all-star team if he nails this. No doubt in my mind.
Sigh........media day.
KOC went to talk to Al in the offseason, to address him about his defensive woes specifically. Al then said that he focused this aspect during his workouts, being able to "go and guard Tony Parker then be able to run back to Tim Duncan".
Hmm.
He almost seems kind of down... idk if excepting is the best thing for him to be doing
Sounds like he's lost some confidence. But watch out if the positive locker room, team success and some encouragement from a vet leader like Mo gets this guy his groove back. I'm looking for a big year from Marvin.
he didn't say it in a negative/weak/down/lack of confidence way at all. locke was basically fishing for him to say that his production was limited by being on an iso team with very little system, and he wouldn't bite. locke tried saying, "i guess i'm just saying after seeing some of your video that i think there's MORE to you." and marvin seemed kind of confused, like, "i think i played well there." i don't think he got where locke was trying to lead him, hence the speech about how he was given a role and he didn't question it, just went and played that role as best he could.

Definitely no lack of confidence from Marvin. My read is simply that Marvin is not going to be baited into crapping on his old team. I'd say my respect for Marvin the person went up, but all that matters is the Marvin on the court.
It's funny, because Locke is walking a hypocritical tightrope with Marvin. He's on record over and over as stating guys don't change no matter what system they play in. But he's a big believer in Marvin and thinks he'll be a better player here. I hope Locke's right (and by extension wrong on his theory).
Personally, I'm not getting my hopes up. Problem for me is minutes. It's easier to have hope for upside in a player that hasn't had a lot of minutes, or inconsistent minutes. Marvin's averaged 30 minutes for 7 years. I'd be stunned if he's not basically who he is.
We don't need Marvin to do a lot. Play D, make a few 3's game and make a couple of backdoor cuts. Our bigs are going to do the heavy lifting. Hayward and Burks will be our perimeter shot creators.
Solution (barring a trade):nah, i don't think paul plays a lot of minutes at 3. i don't think he needs to and i don't think he should, except in specific situations.
of course, MY solution is to cut back al's minutes, and who knows if that's realistic. i just think we have a lot of talent on the wings now, too, so i would only play paul at the 3 if there's a matchup that says we can get something unique by playing him down.
Solution (barring a trade):
Make Al, Paul and Marvin happy by starting them. Hayward gets the nod at the 2, otherwise he sees it as a demotion. Marvin and Al sub out early so you can slide Gordon to SF and bring in Burks, with Favors coming in at the 5. Then at the quarter break, you sub in Kanter for Millsap, which allows Derrick to slide over to the 4.
Favors needs to start, no ifs, ands, or buts. I will be furious if he comes off the bench this season again.
mo said the one thing that has stood out for him so far is the athleticism of burks. he says that burks has been "grinding" this summer and it shows. he said he's taking alec under his wing. he also likes marvin's versatility. he says his role is to be an extension of the coach and instill toughness.
prepare to be furious.
unless there's a surprising october trade, i'm 83% sure favors will be coming off the bench but playing 25+ mpg.
