Not every black only group has to be about defending "black rights".

I don't recall making that assertion. I do recall specifically, implicitly agreeing otherwise. If you are not leaving the conversation, will you answer my question, or otherwise explain why it's wrong to assume this particular student group, since they have themselves declared they are defending white right, is racist?

The difference is that being white already gives you better interactions and opportunities in dozens of small ways, most of which you don't even notice, while being black/gay has the opposite effect. That's why white rights don't needs groups to defend them; the culture is already doing that.

I agree with what you typed. However, what about a white guy fighting against reverse discrimination? My dad, for example, in the late 80's was an auto dealer GM. He was demoted because the state enacted a certain % of blacks must have key positions. My dad, being far more qualified (seriously) was demoted but asked to continue doing his same job description. He fought it. My dad was no racist.

Basically the answer I am gettign is that if you or your ancestors were oppressed than you can have race based groups that are not racist. If you do not then no you cannot not.

I sincerely doubt their motives are to "celebrate" white culture. I could be wrong, but at best these guys were merely looking for attention. At worst, they're racist thugs.

Certainly qualities unique to "white culture...." Cuz... No other race or culture supports or exhibits community service, better education, and family values....

Celebrating "white culture" reminds me of an Aziz Ansari bit were he says a stranger came up to him and congratulated his race for making "Slumdog Millionaire" and he questions whether white people congratulate themselves for every movie a white person has made/been in. Race is not actually a thing. It is a societal construct. These groups are formed in order to better the conditions of minorities who have been discriminated against by those in power (generally speaking, white people). So essentially a group created to advance the people already in power based on the color of their skin is inherently racist as ****.

On the subject of affirmative action, it's a practice put in place to counteract the inherent advantage of being a white person. Advancing in the workforce and receiving higher education is still extremely difficult for minorities. It is an IMPERFECT system of course, but it is what it is.
