No jazz? I think the League is in for a surprise

What do you think a 50 win season will give them? I'd say 6th seed.

But just a win or two either way could be the difference between 4th and 6th (or even lower).
50-32 equates to a winning percentage of .610. Last year, Memphis and the Lakers tied for 3/4 at .621. Clippers got the 5th seed at .606. The previous season, Denver went 50-32 and ended up with the 5th seed.

Then, of course, we have the unbelievable 2009-10 season when all playoff teams in the WC won at least 50 games. I don't see that happening again, though.

Clearly, OKC and the Lakers are the two best teams on paper in the WC. And San Antonio isn't far behind, although age (and injuries) have to catch up to them at some point. After that...?
Clippers may be the favorite for the 4th seed, especially if Odom regains his game. Perhaps Memphis. Denver is deep. Dallas came up with a nice Plan B after missing out on Deron and Dwight. Could I see the Jazz winning 53-54 games and sliding into the 4th spot? I think there's a decent chance. I have no doubt about the bigs. I think it comes down to how well Marvin and Mo play. Perhaps Marvin more than anything. At worst, I think Mo will contribute as much as Devin. But Marvin potentially represents a huge upgrade over Howard and Carroll.
