NFL Thread 12-13

Chronological order of events for Giants.

Play Bradshaw in Dallas game. LOSS

Play Bradshaw in Bucs game. Got down, was going to be a loss until Bradshaw went down. In comes Brown, sparks offense. Giants come back and win

Play Brown in Panthers game. Brown goes off. Giants crush Panthers

Play Bradshaw in Eagles game. Get slaughtered by eagles

Play Bradshaw in Browns game. Bradshaw immediately fumbles. Next possession nothing from Bradshaw. Giants now in big hole against browns.

Go figure. Their line is playing great now that I trash on them. Sheesh. Still, maybe you're right but I am not watching a trash RB in Bradshaw so far. That fumble really was kind of a freak thing.

Haha. Of course the day when it all boils over and I have had enough of Bradshaw, he goes over 100 yards.

But you heard the broadcaster right? Its Bradshaw's first 100 yard game in over 2 years?

I still dont think he should be the starting running back.

Some epic calls by Hack in this thread.

Bradshaw

Alex Smith

Hack, can you go into the NCAA football thread and talk about how the Utes don't have a chance to win this week pls? Thanks

Welker, Decker, Brees, and the Vikings D were money for my fantasy today...

Unfortunately, due to byes and injuries, I rolled out a RB combo of DeAngelo Williams and Jackie Battle for a combined -1 point.

Yay.

I'm currently losing by 1 point today too.....

I think the refs clouded a lot of people's perspectives on the Packers...

That team still can't run the ball or play any defense.

Alex smith was a great college quarterback. Im a utes fan, and I love what he did for the utes. But he just isnt a great nfl quarterback. He is a game manager quarterback. Saying otherwise just means you are a homer or dont know better.

Please list all the quarterbacks in the nfl that Alex is better. Or list the order of top quarterbacks in the league. If alex falls anywhere in the top 15, then you are high my friend. Im just saying, in terms of how he rates to other nfl qb's, he sucks compared to most. He is a whole lot better than many other qb's in the world, just not most nfl qb's

Great guy, good quarterback. Just not anywhere near the discussion of a top qb in the nfl.

Did you watch any good NFL games today?

LOL

Gotta love all the pro Alex folks here.

I don't have anything against Smith. I think he takes more of a beating then he should. But lets keep things in perspective here... Is there an offense that hasn't had success against the Bills this year? Come now, it's not like they have the Texans, Seahawks, or Niners D here. They're dead last in opp. passing yards and one of the worst against the run.

You're talking about a team which gave up 48 points to the New York Jets. Yes Folks, the Jets.

The only team that might have a worst D might be the Saints. That might change once Vilma comes back...

I'm not saying I disagree with you, but like all stats, this should be taken with a grain of salt. He's in the bottom 1/4 of pass attempts. I'd still take Smith over Sanchez (#31 on that list) every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I'd take Smith over a number of starting QBs right now. Kolb, Russel Wilson, Sanchez, Fitzpatrick, whoever is in Jacksonville (Blaine?), Romo (dude sucks. He's a turnover machine on one of thee most talented teams in the league), Bradford, The tampa bay dude, anyone on Tennessee, Cam Newton, and Cassel.

That's just off the top of my head too.

I imagine one could make a case for him being better than a variety of younger QBs who I haven't seen much of (like Weeden or the Miami dude).

Like Eli, lets wait to see what Alex does in the playoffs. A few years ago folks were calling for Eli's head.... Then he won a super bowl. Everyone's opinion of Eli changed then. If Alex does the same I have a feeling that a lot of people will change their minds about Alex.

Does he have to do better than he did last year? It was hardly his fault they lost to the Giants.

Start Mo, Burks, Hayward, Kanter & Favors. It is only preseason and let them spread their wings a little.

I love Burks as a weapon in the run game but his pass blocking skills make it hard to give him a lot of downs.

Agreed on the rest of it.

Prediction: Favors hauls in 2 TD's

Favors and Kanter on the D line would be brutal.

Yours included I'm sure. His 100 or so qb rating this year means nothing of course. God, you're helpless.
