Preseason Finale Thursday Oct 25, 7:00 PM mtn

Do starters usually play many minutes in the last pre-season game? This may be the first year I've paid attention to the pre-season.

Yes they play but they usually dsitribute it more evenly amoung the players. 20-25 minutes or some such crap.

Now that you mention it, I can honestly say I have no idea. A definite maybe.

I'm pretty sure teams play their starters close to a real game the last game or 2 of preseason. We should see close to their Game 1 lineup and rotation...with a few less minutes for the starters. ???

That would likely be the case, although there's still a chance Coach Corbin may still want to experiment with some different lineups at times.

the Black and Whit Pic with the radio is awesome. Love the Hockey comment too.

Has he experimented much? Other than injuries/excused absences (Favors replacing Millsap and Mo being out), the starting unit has been pretty much set since game 1.

I mainly meant that the starters could play less minutes than you might expect in the last preseason game due to experimenting with other lineups. I'd say the starting lineup is pretty well set.

Did you know that the Jazz all-time record against Potland (regular season & playoffs) is 90-71, but the Blazers have outscored the Jazz by about 50 points all-time. 19 more wins but outscored by 50 pts is impressive, Portland has blown out the jazz a few times.

The 161 games the Jazz have played the Blazers ranks Potland as the 5th most frequent Jazz opponent. The 91 wins ranks 6th as the most wins against an opponent. The Blazers are one of 22 teams the jazz have a winning record against.

Here is a throw back photo for the senior jazzfanz to rembemer.

Notice the blazers zone. I hated that Buck Williams could gaurd Karl without a double team.

Did you know that the Blazer's rookie pg, Damian Liliard is older than 3 jazz players? The Blazer's roster has 3 former jazzmen.

Al Jefferson and Lamarcus Aldridge are the same age, and about the same height (Aldridge is about 1 inch taller) but Jefferson is about 40 lbs heavier. Jefferson has been in the league two years longer than Aldridge and played in about 120 more games. But looking at thier averages they are pretty close to the same.

about 50% fg on about 17 fga per game. about 16 points, just over 1 block and 1.5 assists per game. Aldridge gets to the line just a little more frequently and shoots a slightly better percentage, Al gets about 1.5 rebounds more per game.

Jazz were 4-0 against the Blazers last season. Ini their first match-up, the Jazz played without Al, Favors had 6 rebounds and 8 points but it was Paul Milsap who stepped up scoring 19 points and grabbing 17 rebounds against Aldridge and Camby.

Truth

Nothing has changed from game 1 to game 7.

If you look at other teams, they actually are trying different line ups. Hell these rotations look exactly like last years rotations. And in the regular season, nothing will change either.

Corbin is just like a politician. He says what you want to hear, but has no intentions of actually doing it.

No TV eh? Bummer. This game will pass by like it never happened.

I will still listen on radio and read the box score and discuss in the game thread.

Burks 7/9 on threes so far. He shot 50% on his spot up threes last year. Hope this is not a fluke!
