What's new

we haven't seen a trade thread in a while...

Throw in Roger Braille and we might be onto something.

Except for the players we get, I don't want them.

That is a kick *** deal for us even if it undervalues Jefferson. How is Dalembert's defense compared to Perkins? If he's anywhere close to comparable then OKC does this over the phone.

I don't even know who's on the Bucks roster at this point with all their changes and the draft, but Jefferson, Jennings, & Ellis make an argument for the playoffs. They have like 5 forwards already but nobody to replace Bogut's void.

I don't really like it either. If we got a 1st rounder, then I'd come around.

If it frees up space down low it's okay, I guess. We still have 15 though so we cant take on 2 without including Braille somehow or getting him to take a buyout.

OKC won't want to get rid of Perkins now that Dwight is in the conference. Also, why would you want Perkins on the Jazz?

A buyout is as easy as giving Braille 100 cents on the dollar.

My original proposal was Sap & Watson/Tinsley for Perkins, Maynor, PJIII, and their first rounder. They're in a hard spot with Harden and the new luxury tax so they have incentive to deal. They could even take Bell and give us $3mm and it would save them millions over the price of amnestying Perkins, which it looks like they'll have to do.

I'm not in love with losing Millsap but I don't think the Jazz convince him to re-sign and come off the bench.

It's more about posters wanting Al Jefferson off than Perkins on. Perk would make an excellent backup center and clear the logjam though.

Well you never would have thought the Suns would send Nash to the Lakers, but they did. In all likelihood though, I would see the Thunder as using the amnesty clause on Perkins next summer before I would see them trading him this season.

Perkins can defend the PnR. We would have the best squad of PnR defending bigs in the league. His history with dwight is nice, too.

I tried finding a legit trade idea on that thing, but there isn't much out there you can do that would be realistic and beneficial to all teams involved.

NAOS put up one of the best scenarios, and even that is meh to me.

I would rather keep them all and see what happens. Once things get going and there is writing on the wall, maybe Lindsey will have to make something happen to clear up room for Kanter and Favors.
Like that GM in that baseball movie, moved players because the coach wouldn't play who he wanted him to play.

Spazz you debbie downer, check this out from realgm thunder board:

Yes. Perk is great at keeping pivots like Bynum and Howard off their "sweet spots", but otherwise isn't very good. An ideal player for the Thunder, IMO due to the lack of defense when it really matters, would be Al Jefferson. A guy like that can consistently score on the block on anyone in the league. Problem is he gets paid something like 15 mil per season, so he or Nene aren't possible options. I just think the Thunder ponying up 12 million per season for Perkins, Aldrich, and Thabeet is somewhat a death sentence. Is that position going to end up costing them Harden? Ibaka? The juice isn't worth the squeeze.

Al Jefferson son! They covet.

Make it happen frank, and I prefer wet blanket to debbie downer.

I would be okay with almost any decent backup C that can spot fill decently. I just hate to give away Jeff for nothing. I'd be fine with Perkins, and a decent younger option of a pg. What are the odds though?

I see that I clearly misinterpreted the second sentence of your post bovice. I mainly think Perkins would help to clear the logjam as an obvious backup to either Favors or Kanter.

Don't think it is a good idea to take on 3 years in salary. With no trade, at least we have a ton of cap space at the end of the year.
