couple of merged quotes from the Denver Post:
So, let me get this right, Kosta Koufos was traded as FILL IN to get Al Jefferson to come here, now Kosta is going to start and we wish Al would go away to open up time For Kanter.
I was kinda sad when Kosta went away, I was excited when we got him in the first place. Now he's finally clicking in and the guy we traded him for is making five times more than him and we want him off the team. (well, not all of us, but a good number.)
On a side note, starters were listed for the Jazz: Millsap, AL and MoMo (per jody Genessy tweet)
Kosta Koufos, whose salary is $3 million this season, is expected to start at center ahead of McGee, whose paychecks will total $10 million in 2012-13. Is there something wrong with this picture? Maybe, maybe not. When Nuggets management gave McGee a four-year, $44 million contract this summer, they paid a premium to keep a talented 24-year-old big man off the NBA's open market after his sensational playoff performance against the Lakers. The Nuggets paid a premium for his potential as a shot blocker, defensive presence and intriguing offensive talent. But McGee is far from a proven talent. Denver Post

Denver coach George Karl is the first to acknowledge McGee's ability. After practice Sunday, Karl said McGee is the team's most talented center, period. But he also said a couple of things that can safely be classified as a lukewarm endorsement of McGee's preseason performance. "I'm not happy, and I'm not disappointed," Karl said. "With my big guys in training camp, I've been waiting for separation — you know, who's going to take the responsibility. The guy, in my opinion, who has separated is Kosta. JaVale is our most talented big and Kosta is our most fundamental big." Denver Post

I hope that they did this to try to placate their egos for when their minutes diminish with the surgence of Kanter and Favors, but get used to the 'captains' starting.Jody Genessy @DJJazzyJody
Paul Millsap, Al Jefferson and Mo Williams will share captain responsibilities for the Utah Jazz this season.
