Here is my brief scouting report on the UK/Maryland (heavy UK, so prepare yourselves) game:
Noel is not just raw but he is getting pushed around out there.
Poythress had about 2 or 3 great plays and the rest of the time he was either non existent or he was hurting the team. What stands out to me is that MKG had an impact from day 1 on the court. As the rest of the team got better he role slowly diminished. Poythress is one of those guys that we be better with 10+ games under his belt.
UK needs a PG bad! I know that Cal's PG's have a history of looking atrocious at the beginning of the season but this is worse than any other season. Poulson (sp?) was a great spark plug and Mays showed some glimpses but Harrow looked beyond bad and Goodwin was looking for himself too much.
Goodwin is certainly an intriguing player. He could light the world on fire or he could just be a chucker. The comparisons between Goodwin and Wade/Westbrook are visible but I would lean more towards Westbrooks decision making. I can think of at least 3 plays when Goodwin had another option with the ball but got buried under the basket hoping for a call.

Sure it was against Slippery Rock, but Trey Burke picked up right where he left off - he's a little bigger and stronger, but just as quick and has a lot of different weapons on the offensive end. Michigan is pretty stacked with talent this year so his numbers will go down a bit I imagine. I am guessing the three standouts this year will be Trey Burke, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Glen Robinson III in that order. Mitch McGary will take some time, but is already a great rebounder and Nick Stauskus has Kyle Korver type accuracy and all around game. Should be a fun year.

Wiltjer looked great shooting the ball and playing with his back to the basket. If he could build some strength then I could see him being a Ryan Anderson type in the NBA.
I liked what I saw from Cauley-Stein. He was great in the first half. I think he could make himself into a lottery pick by the end of the season. If the season ended today, I would take him over Noel based off of what I saw yesterday. I know it is early but WCS looks like a more complete player to me.
Len is someone that I would keep my eye on. I can see someone falling in love with him and drafting him high because of his length.
All in all I think that the UK players that I have mentioned will come into their own. If I was to rank them based off of what I saw yesterday this is the order that I would have them in:
Wiltjer
Goodwin
Cauley-Stein
Noel
Poythress
Harrow
The rest don't really matter much.

Like I said in my review of the game, most of those guys will break out around early to mid December (I was guessing that would be around 10 or so games), and they will really start getting their act together. I thought the first half was very impressive and then the second half rolled around and I don't know what happened.
