What's new

Following potential 2013 draftees

I'll start with CJ Leslie (yes, I know he has already been discussed by me)

I have gone from I love the kid to I like the kid. I caught the second half of the game he played against Michigan and that is the Leslie that I love. Unfortunately it seems as though you have to kill his dog/best friend/cousin etc to get his motor revving high.

I have always thought that he would be a good player off the bench to create mismatches with but I want energy off the bench and he just doesn't bring energy consistently. His athleticism and length are amazing and he even has some decent handles for a guy his size but without a good motor I don't have a lot of interest in him.

No thanks. Looks like a glorified roll playing backup. Looks like a tweener, and in today's game even the bigs need to have some shooting touch, and looks like he has none. And I'm with ya no motor no thanks. After years of Boozer and Al I'm done with that kind of player. Also watching that vid, he reminded me of a more skilled Jeremy Evans. Not exactly a great endorsement.

Every time I watch him I am reminded that he never learned how to play basketball, if he wasnt the most athletic player on the court 99% of the time he would be completely worthless.

Last time I was high on CJ was his SR year of HS... he's not impressed me with any development since. Coaching? That is a large part of it, but he hasn't improved, imo.

Yea, I was using the coaching this as my hope for why he will be better, but he doesn't seem largely improved this year. With his athleticism and the fact that he is a Jr should mean that he is DOMINATING right now and he is not.

Yep. His biggest problem is he only uses that athleticism about 10% of the time.

I will say this. If by some miracle he drops to the second round, I would try and snatch him up immediately.

Definitely. I don't hate the guy. I just think he's done nothing to live up to his original lottery status. Somewhere in the mid-20's I can see it.

That was CRAZY. NEVER thought he'd fall like that.

A 6'11" guy with great athleticism, smooth J, good handles, and range ........ almost falling out of the first round. If only Al Davis was an NBA owner, he would have gone #1 for sure.

I am officially declaring that this is the only thread on Jazzfanz that I care about anymore.

I am announcing that so that we can really get things going in this thread. I want to see more names, videos and player evaluations. I will start with my own shortly.

C.J. McCollum write up to come. Stay tuned.
