Celtics / Jazz trade idea

Being from the Boston area, all I've been hearing about lately is how badly the Celtics are performing. One of the areas that most people point to is the need for a big man who can rebound and score.

Enter Al Jefferson. We're trying to get rid of him and I think a package that might work out pretty well to fit the Jazz's and the Celtics' needs is the following:

Celtics acquire: Al Jefferson

Jazz acquire: Avery Bradley, Jared Sullinger and maybe a pick

Salary-wise, another team might have to be involved, or perhaps another Celtics player, or even some sort of TPE. Here's why I like it for the Jazz: Avery is a high-upside 2 guard who the Celtics are very high on. He plays excellent defense and has speed and a good all-around game. You all know Jared Sullinger. He gives the Jazz a young big man in return. This will free up the starting role for Favors, and give us good minutes from Sullinger off the bench.

The reason the Celtics do it is because Al fits many of their current needs and would probably be willing to re-sign with the Cs after this season. He loved Boston when he was here and he was well-liked by the fans and Danny Ainge alike.

No team is going to give up an asset to acquire al

You may underestimate how desperate the Celtics are. There's seemingly serious talk about blowing it all up. I think this is a good deal for the Cs as it allows them to keep their core together.

How come Sullinger is not part of the core?

How come Sullinger is not part of the core?

Well you could say he (along with Bradley) is part of their young nucleus that will be in place when this current KG / Pierce iteration has run its course. The whole reason I'm bringing this up is how badly the Celtics (or at least their fans and the local sports radio pundits) want to win NOW. And if there's some truth to that, then doing the trade I mentioned does what they need it to do for the short term -- which seems to match with what the mood around here is.

Damnit! How did I miss this thread and miss out on all the bashing of the OP????????

I don't want Al.
What good is Bradley?
Isn't Sullinger way redundant? (no thanks, btw)
'Maybe a pick' lol

SO, Al Jefferson has become a solution to WINNING NOW.
Depending on a team's situation, yes. With what the Celtics need in particular, yes he is. For us, no.

I don't want Al.
Neither do I -- that's why I suggested the trade.

What good is Bradley?
I already explained what good he is. All people complain about on this board is a lack of defense. Well, here's a young talent who has the all-around game we've been looking for. Our perimeter defense is particularly bad, and he's quite good at that.

He's not redundant. Losing Al will drop us one big man. Moving Favors into the starting rotation will free up his minutes off the bench for Jared.

'Maybe a pick' lol
I think I missed something. What's funny?

I'm glad I could give you this internet boner.
