Following potential 2013 draftees

For '14 I would obviously love to have Wiggins .. but short of a complete and utter collapse + luckiest ping pong balls, ever .. not happening.

So, the more realistic (of the unrealistic targets) guy is PG Andrew Harrison. Instant impact for the Jazz, imo.

Wiggins
Jabari Parker
Andrew Harrison
Julius Randle (though not a need - PF)
Aaron Harrison (not a huge need - SG)

Whether he is starter material or not, Trey Burke goes top 10 in this draft. He is just getting stronger and more confident every game - showcasing scoring, passing and leadership while taking care of the ball. He's really doing everything out there while showcasing his teammates at the same time. People are just starting to take notice and I see it escalating from here because Michigan doesn't seem to be slowing down.

Seeing the Jazz need both a starter and a backup at pg, I hope we get him. He's a true point guard that can shoot and I see him fitting in perfectly alongside Burks, Hayward, Favors, Kanter. However, this is one situation where I would like to see him play for a year (or two) under a veteran point guard (depending who it is) and learn a few tricks, and get a little more mature before taking over.

On a side note, Glenn Robinson III is the real deal. He can score every which way. Look for him to shine next year after Burke and Hardaway move on.

Yeah I tend to agree. I think he's kinda like Damian Lillard from last year. He'll just rise on the lack of PG crop alone.

Good thing is there's only so many teams needing PG picking in the top 10 (Detroit, Orlando, Dallas).

Hopefully we can trade our pick and GSW pick and somehow move up to grab him.

If there's a time KOC needs to weave his magic, it's NOW.

I wouldn't do that. Not wanting to get into a big ordeal, but that's too much for Trey.

It is tough to judge where the jazz will be for the draft. If our prayers are answered and Jefferson and millsap are moved at the deadline we could be drafting in the top 10. Not to mention gsw still has over half the season left and curry could still go down.

As it stands it's approx. #14 and #25 for Trey (which I estimate to be approx. #9 if he keeps up his production, low TO, high assists, high % from 3's).

I'd say #14 & #25 for #9 is a pretty good deal - provided we get someone who is not a reach and fits perfectly to our need.

Solid logic. I respect the thinking and mean no offense when I say it's too much, for me.

Thanks..

Where do you think Andrew Harrison will go in '14? Seems like a D.Rose clone, may be top 5? With the new cba, draft picks are worth more than gold, so unless we tank (0% chance), I think it's pretty near impossible for us to get him.

D Rose is a real bad comp. Andrew is a big bully .. 6'5, 220lbs, pure point, with a great shot to NBA 3.. Deron is a better comp.
I think he'll go between 3 and 6 .. most likely 4.

Behind;

Wiggins
Randle
Parker

I'm thinking the way they play. Deron controls the game very well, plays within a system, looks for assists, (was) a great shooter from the 3pt line. Isn't Andrew more of a slasher/scoring type PG?

How realistic is this really, I mean, from what I remember last year several teams tried to move up into the lotto but couldn't because teams were asking for too much in return. I thought I heard a rumor that teams wanted Favors and Hayward or something like that.

Well PKM is saying I'm giving away too much. You're now saying nobody will take that deal.

I can't win!!!

No. Andrew is a big, strong, pure point .. he likes to play within a system and make the play more than slash and create on the fly.. He's good..

I don't claim to know a lot about a lot, but I do claim to know how NBA teams are gauging potential draftees .. take my word for it .. there's a lot of history on this site that suggests I've got a good group I use for info.

LOL.. not doubting that you got good info.

Burke was nowhere to be seen last year. He was supposed to declare last year, but backed out as he was projected to go in the 2nd round. His performance this year has been solid. But there's still question marks over how reliable that is as it is still a small sample size. Also his lack of height/athleticism is still a worry.

Whether or not he's the real deal remains to be seen, but it would be good to get more insider info from you as we get closer to the draft.

I used to hang on your every word of inside info last year but then you stopped sharing, because of a bunch of scuzzbuckets took it personal when it didn't turn out as you said. I always believed you, but figured they were things that just fell through. I wish you'd continue to share the inside info again.

How high do you think Trey can go PKM? Assuming he keeps up his production and makes a deep run in the tourney (final four).
