What's new

List of coaches Corbin is better than.

No. All coaches would undoubtedly have the identical lineups, sub patterns, and minute allocations.

Not identical smarty pants, but very similar. I just don't see a different coach mixing things up a ton. Maybe Burks might get 5 minutes instead of 3 or Favors might get 5 more minutes but nothing drastic. But if you think they would thats your prerogative, thats why I asked the question.

Keep talking about my pants. I like that.

There are plenty of different styles out there. I think it's insane to think some coaches wouldn't do things very differently. With the pieces the Jazz have now more than maybe ever before.
We've never had so many high profile lotto picks. We have one of the deepest rosters we've ever had. Hartstock please take a second, and rethink this a bit.
Just look at the Pacers situation, and how O'brien used George, and compare to how Vogel committed to him.

I think the problem is the Jazz organization. Would they ever go out, and get someone who doesn't play it like Sloan or Corbin? That is a big question mark imo.

Not to backseat moderate but will the franklin trolling ever be curtailed?

All signs point to no.

What you and NAOS call trolling is nothing more than adding reasonable input to the most irrational and convoluted ******** notions. But you both know how those outside a profession think those in the line of work are utterly stupid Ivy League Elitists with an ageda, or however the saying goes.

leave franklin alone basckseat mod bro

Don't worry about Pizza Hut, he already signed The Pledge and is just running his own schtick.

Well comparing George to Burks is your first mistake, Favors and Kanter aren't exactly killing it in their minutes or even looking like they are getting much better, other than those 3 what do you want? Also Favors an Kanter are high draft picks but both of them are considered projects, as was Burks. They are projects, they aren't good enough yet. I think Ty makes mistakes but takes far to much of the blame, when in reality there shouldn't be much blame to begin with.

Oh cmon, you're smart enough to know the difference between me and Gyp. I feed your reverse trolling. He gets his panties in a wad. Rep the difference, braugh, then continue with your ways.

My panties are in a wad because I had to use them for...edited...

I'm honestly surprised you've learned to pull out in time. You seem just like the kind of braugh that finds himself in an embarrassing moment of surprise, looking down at disappointed eyes (and a disgusting body, no doubt), and with plenty of habit-formed words about what must have happened.

Well, regardless, you're still that braugh. Congrats on making my grey-haired mum on a rare moment of success.

NAOS trying to be cool.

Thanks for the laughs.

I can see it's a mistake to ever mention you two together. I didn't really write what I meant FWIW.

I'm late to the party and agree with a lot of things that have been said on both sides of the argument.

Is Corbin a elite coach heck no, no one is suggesting he is but he is not as bad as the haters make him out to be.
I agree that there is only a couple of elite to good coaches the rest are average or worse and I think right now at worst Ty is an average coach but he is also a young coach learning so I am willing to give him more time. Well that is unless by some miracle an elite coach falls into the the Jazz' lap or is even by some bigger miracle willing to come to Utah.

I have many ideas or things I'd like to see Corbin try as well but I'm just not so full of my own opinion (except during games) that I think I'm better or smarter than him. I would love to see the Foye, Burks, Hayward line up when the situation permits or anything that would get less time to Watson with the way he's been playing (although he was much better in the Pacers game as far as at least making his presence known as being a pest on defense).
Such as not starting Foye and Millsap so they could help solidify and give time to the Foye, Burks, Hayward, line up by having Millsap be the vet along with Favors or Kanter, many slight variations in my head.

But again I'm not so married to the idea that I actually think Corbin deserves to be fired for not conforming to what I think.

Huh? When did I compare Burks to George? We have four young lotto picks.
I was talking about a coaching change making a difference. You made it seem like no coach out there
could or would shake this team up. I think that's completely insane.

You haven't seen progression in Kanter, and Favors game lately? Wow man. I guess we are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum here.
Are quite good enough? Kanter was 4/4 the other night, and killing it. 11 minutes is all he gets? He's not ready for more?

Mistakes that Ty has made:

Point: Burks not getting playing time (biggest one IMO), ahead of Earl Watso
Counterpoint: Has had some boneheaded stints. He is learning loads this season. If he ever gets out of this lack-of-plying-time rut, he will be a MUCH better shooter, defender, and team-player than he would otherwise if he had gotten playing time from the start, or if he had been drafted to another team. Also, not all high picked guards get time (see Jeremy Lamb)

Point: Millsap and Al playing together
Counterpoint: Who knows. PERHAPS he originally planned Kanter and Favors developing chemistry together so they'd be in-sync in a few years when they both start? Also, Millsap has been the first player checking out for a while now. Typically, Millsap will check out, then Al will check out with 30 seconds or so left in the quarter. I honestly don't see this as nearly as big of a problem as the first point.

Point: Foye getting time/starts ahead of Hayward, Burks
Counterpoint: Foye has been lights out this season, and has bailed out shooting droughts many-a-time. Also, when Al is on the court, there is not a guard that compliments him better. Best shooter on this team. I have no qualms with him getting this much burn with Mo Williams out. Burks still needs minutes though (see Watson point above). Also, Hayward has been much better off the bench than in starts. Let him continue his improvement.

Point: Not getting after the vets for defense
Counterpoint: What happens to our offense when Sap and Al check out? Have people still not realized that Kanter and Favors don't yet have half court consistency?? They're great on the break, sure, but our team would look JUST like we did in the 4th quarter against the heat earlier this month if we benched Al and Sap every time they blew a defensive assignment. Sorry guys, its the way it is. For now, I am comrtable with feeding Favors and Kanter iso-situations in the low block to get their experience up-- as we clearly don't have a point guard capable of making them get feeds off of things like screens, picks, and so on.

What other complaints do y'all have??

Looks like Im'a be George'n u n00bz all night long. A shame I have to log off soon.
