Honeymoon

Where is a good place to go on one? We wanted to go on a cruise in Hawaii, but there are no cruises the week were getting hitched for some dumb reason. Anyways, we are now looking into a cruise to Mexico. Are cruises good for honeymoons? What cruise line? Where? Also, what are some other ideas?

I'll let you know when I get to that stage. The Madame and I probably won't be finished negotiating the pre-nup until at least 2015.

I would recommend a nice long, but leisurely, scenic drive. Like, say, the pacific coast highway, starting somewhere around Pacifica, CA, headin down to Tiajuana, Rosarito Beach, and Ensenada Mexico. You don't need much: A rented or stolen convertible, a siphon hose, a big-*** cooler fulla malt liquor, a couple sleepin bags, and some chump change for frequent stops at motel rooms that rent by the 1/2 hour, ya know?

1/2 hour? Come on, you're giving him WAY too much credit.

I went to Cancun for my honeymoon and it was relaxing and great place for a honeymoon. There is also dance clubs and tons of day trips and other things to do. There is a **** load of alcohol, and seeing as you are mormon that might not appeal to you, but you will still have fun. I have been on cruises and they are fun. I personally dont think they are great for a honeymoon since you never feel like you have privacy. Another thing to consider with a cruise is that some people get sick on them. So unless both of you have been on cruise and were okay I would not do that.

Thanks, man.

Take my advice, avoid Jamaica like the plague. Mrs. Trout and I spent a week there at the Sandals 'all inclusive' resort, and you couldn't pay me enough to go back to that God forsaken country. Don't get me wrong, it was a great honeymoon, and our resort was top-shelf, but there were too many things that just didn't jive. We spent a grand total of 30 minutes on the beach because you couldn't go out there without getting harassed by locals trying to sell you seashells n' junk. (they aren't allowed onto the beach, so they pull up in their homemade boats and scream at you to come over to them, and if you don't, they make a scene and yell about what a scum bag you are -- no kidding) The food was so/so, and every single person there was wasted drunk 24/7. Since neither the Mrs. or I drink, it was a drag. You weren't allowed to leave the resort because of the crime, and EVERYBODY would just put their hand out and flat out ask you for a tip -- it didn't matter if they made you a drink, got you a towel, or just passed you in the hall -- you were expected to tip for everything. Gay.

Yeah, I don't really plan on going to Jamaica, but thanks for the advice. I already have my lucky egg and I'm not feeling very Olympic today either. Thanks again.

So, anyways, they gave me a $150 fine for loitering, just because I hang out on the corner 24/7, the ********, them. They told me to show up in two weeks with the cash. I had it (I had to bust into a pawn shop to get it, but....) and was on my way to the courthouse when I seen these two Babes and.....well. long story short, I ended up with a two-week vacation, all expenses paid, courtesy of County.

But that aint the point. Point is this here: When I got out one of my homeys said: "Where you been? Jamaica?" I said: "Naw, I haven't even seen her. Where she at?"

That's when I learned that Jamaica is some kinda island. Like, whooda thunk?

Save your money and stick close to home. I have found over the years that the biggest deal about going on vacation with your wife is simply getting away from the daily grind. We have spent time alone in Hawaii, St. George, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara & Park City. By far my favorite was Park City. Yeah, yeah. Not very exotic, I know. But guess what? I was more relaxed and had more fun than any of the other locales. There was no rush to see as many sights as we could see. There was no fret over how much money was being spent. When we did go out I was familiar with the restaurants and customs which added to my comfort level. Best week I've ever spent on vacation with my wife. 50 miles from home.

Besides, you plan on staying in your room and having sex for a week. Why waste a week in hotel room in Hawaii?? You could do that in Provo. Save Hawaii for your 20th anniversary when you can no longer stand her.

Very wise, Marcus. Well, Archie, there's your answer....well, unless ya wanna include some Mexican Babes in on the action, in which case Ensenada is your best bet.

my middle son is going on his honeymoon soon and they are going to Disney World in Florida. He's been there a couple of times before as a kid, the last time was probably 8 or so years ago - his girl friend has never been there. They're both really looking forward to it. I can let you know what they think once they get back, if you're interested.

My oldest brother went on his honeymoon there. He told me it was the worst place he could have gone to and wasn't romantic at all.

ok, then!

well I sure hope my son & his fiancee don't share those sentiments!

When are you getting married by the way?
How about Vancouver and Victoria, BC? Both are really great places, relaxing and beautiful but with lots to see and do.
