Jeff Van Gundy Slams Utah on ESPN...

Last night while watching the Lakers/Celtics game, I heard one of the nastiest jabs at Utah that I have heard in years. Jeff Van Gundy was talking about Howard playing Jason Collins, and how Collins flops. Then he proceeded to say something along the lines of "If you were part of the Utah Jazz, flopping is in your blood), in reference to Jason Collins somehow being known as a flopper. First off, JASON Collins never played for Utah, though his brother Jarron Collins did. Jarron is retired from the NBA. Second we get called for more fouls typically than almost anyone in the league. Seems to me we are mostly the anti-floppers (with the exception of Raja, who is still on our roster). We were nowhere near the top floppers, which could be the Spurs, Suns, Mavericks or Heat (Think Dwayne Wade, Manu Ginobli, Dirk Nowitzki, etc.). Seems to me that this unprofession jab at Utah shows his deep hatred of Utah, who used to regularly thump his Houston team. In my own opinion, that was the most unprofessional behavior I have seen on ESPN in a long time, and that says a lot. Utah was not even in the conversation at the time, he just pulled that disgusting nugget out of his rear end!

Lets get all the fans in the arena next time he is here with ESPN/TNT covering a game, and remind him why we are the best fans. Lets let this cretin never live those comments down! Anyone else with me? What do you think of this behavior and comments?

I heard the same thing. I stopped and wondered if I had actually heard what I thought I had heard. I rewound the game and sure enough:

'If you were trained by the Utah Jazz, then flopping is a major aspect of your game' or something like that.

Van Gundy... If you were a half way decent coach, then you might have beat the Jazz once during the playoffs when you had home court advantage. Proof is in the pudding. No one wants you as a coach, champ. Guess what... no one wants you as a commentator. Hack. Go make out with Tracy 'steve buscemi' McGrady.

Van Gundy... If you hadn't have been a Unic and a **** then the world could have been a worse place with your children populating it. Thank goodness. Seriously, who wants to rally the Jazzfanz twitter attack on ESPN against Van Gundy?

How is calling a team or someone a flopper the worst thing you ever heard? I don't think its that big of a deal. The whole NBA flops. The whole NBA plays physical. No team is different than the other. It only depends on which players you have a certain time that might be worse than others. Its not on a certain team.

Don't know if I will be able to sleep tonight knowing that JVG doesn't like the Jazz.... Oh well!

Not sure that I 100% meant that. Just wanted to join the Corbin Bashing. That said, I'd love to have a coach with some real playoff experience.

He had 2 good seasons with the Knicks and then blllllaahhhhhh mediocre records and 1st round exits. Not sure why everyone on here is tickling JVG's taint when he is basically a Corbin equal who happens to be an analyst now. Just because he is on ESPN doesn't mean hes a great coach.

His post game quotes would be far superior to Corbin's.

Ha for sure, I would actually love to have Van Gundy, but dont think Corbin is the tard everyone here thinks he is either. I bet our record would be very similar as would our rotations and complaints.
