OFFICIAL: Trade Deadline Thread

Jody Genessy @DJJazzyJody now
Raja Bell's camp isn't expecting the Utah Jazz guard to be involved in a trade today. "Probably not," his agent said. One hour to deadline.

Awesome.

And South Temple is still quiet.

ATL still underwhelmed with offers for Smith, but most believe they'll settle for one of the offers rather than risk losing him this summer. @AlexKennedyNBA

i wonder where smith ends up. sounds like hes going no matter the price

One thing cap space can do is allow us to take on some other teams salary dumps to get under the luxury tax and receive assets/picks for doing so.

We always say this, but all we got out of cap space and other's contracts is Al, even though we still had to give up three first round picks for him.

This is why I think Al is back next fall. I don't think the Jazz's thinking is, "let's get something for him because we aren't going to overpay for him."

Their thinking is, "we will keep Al and Millsap so we can use them against each other in negotiating to get a deal on one of those players."

Too bad both will be offered big deals from other teams, so the Jazz will have to overpay to keep either of them.

Missing out on Bledsoe is going to put this board in a foul mood.

Pretty sure the Clips wanted Milsap + Hayward/Burks for him and I'd be real happy if we didn't do that trade. Milsap for Bledsoe is a no-brainer. Don't think KOC/Lindsey are that stupid.

So, Green, are you going to still be a fan after 1:00 p.m. and watch every Jazz game for the rest of the season?

And Hayward (NY pick). Conversely, the Jazz also gave up a decent PG (Maynor).

Boston got Rondo this way
Seattle got two first rounders (AT ONE TIME) this way
This list goes on.

I agree. I think we definitely will stand pat in not giving up Burks or Hayward but you never know, the Clippers might give in at the last second and say alright to Millsap for Bledsoe/Butler or Odom

Yep me too. Burks looks like he's a keeper now, playing under control. We're only tapping into 20-30% of his real potential. Then we can simply pick up Trey Burke in the draft.

In my opinion, in the long run:

Burke + Burks > Bledsoe.

I personally do not want more picks or "assets" right now. I think what the Jazz need is a young, aggressive floor general.

Either way I will be watching the Jazz on Saturday and rooting like I always am.

And that's why the Jazz don't feel the need to make a trade. Because you are satisfied with Al and the first round sweep he brings.

I haven't really watched a game in a year and a half.

I'll always be a fan. I won't be engaged as long as Al is here.

@AlexKennedyNBA: I wouldn't be surprised to see the Utah Jazz come out of nowhere and trade Al Jefferson or Paul Millsap. That's how Dennis Lindsey rolls.

Hayward wasn't a part of the Boozer/Ak/Memo asset phase.

Don't be a fool Green. There is a HUGE difference between rooting for the Jazz and being happy with all their moves. If you are a fan based on what the Jazz might do or what YOU want them to do then you can leave with the guy that made that stupid "I'm Done" thread.

p.s. I'm am being very negative and down and expecting the worse. Hopefully all my posts look silly in an hour.

I'd be very surprised. It would've meant that the other team was desperate and didn't get the best offer possible meaning the Jazz made a great lop-sided deal.
