What's new

So Jarrett Jack will be a free agent......

I think Evans in a Jazz uni would be fairly disastrous. I'd like a PG/wing who can create their own offense, but a 2/3 who dominates the ball by nature would not be a good fit in our system.

I'd rather just keep Burks and see if he can run PG for us. He's got a great handle, has an attack-mindset and can pass the ball. I'm not convinced he can't a Westbrook-esque (granted, not as talented) type of PG. If nothing else, it puts the ball in his hands every possession.

PG - Burks
SG - TBD (strong 3pt threat)
SF - Hayward
PF - Favors
C - Kanter

...could be lethal in a few years.

I doubt Burks ever gets the chance to take the PG reins, though. The organization has an affinity for playing players out of position (Kirilenko at the 3...)

Three words for you:

Off the bench.

Burks? Off the bench now or long-term?

I think he should start now. I think he's our most talented guard and long-term I'd prefer to keep him over Hayward. Especially with Mo out, I think Burks should start now. I'd much prefer the ball in his hands than Tinsley. Even with Mo back, I want him on the floor 30 mpg.

I agree the Burks should start now. I also think that Hayward and Favors should start with Millsap. Jeffy should be coming off the bench as the 4th big.

I was referring to Evans.

Gotcha. Yeah, I'm not an Evans fan. Not a fan of the black-hole type of player unless you're on Kobe/Westbrook's level.

Bold statement on Big Al there...

Definitely.
Burks can be a backup PG, but I doubt he starts at that position.

Without Jefferson and Millsap, the dynamics of the team change quite a bit. I think Foye returns, but I hope K O'Lindsey sits down with Corbin and tells him Miller is ok with a 35-win season IF the young guys are put in charge. I see Hayward moving back into the starting lineup; the Jazz are going to need his scoring.

PG-Mo Williams
SG-Hayward
SF-Marvin Williams
PF-Favors
C-Kanter

That gives the Jazz three good outside shooters to put with the young bigs. Foye and Burks have played well together when they've had the chance. I'd like to see those two, along with Carroll and a yet to be determined big anchor the 2nd unit.

I'm not against Mo coming back...but why that lineup instead of this lineup?>

PG - Mo
SG - Burks
SF - Hayward
PF- Favors

...why Marvin over Alec? Specifically amidst the youth movement that you outlined...

Quite often J Jack looks like the Warriors' best player. He's one of the reasons they're overachieving and screwing with our draft pick.

Sacramento is so dysfunctional that it might not be a bad thing to give Tyreke Evans a complete mulligan. He was pretty awesome as a rookie.

The talent is obviously there....

I wonder if the issue is that the Kings have never been close to a PO team.
