Why is Marvin Starting Over Hayward?

The bigger question is why is Ty so scared to turn the offense over to Hayward? He just can't seem to get over the "dump it down to Big Al" as his security blanket. He should start Hayward and have the majority of possessions go through him. We'll only be mediocre if we go through Big Al. I think it's just lazy coaching to say he would get more touches if Gordon came off the bench. Be a man Ty, start Gordon and turn the keys over to him.

Because Corbin doesn't know what he is doing. He doesn't know what to run on offense. Al is safe and covers up Corbin's deficiencies. You take Al out and Corbin actually has to plan/run/call an offensive game, and he doesn't know how to do that.

"@sluhm :Jazz question of the day: Why is Marvin Williams starting ahead of, say, DeMarre Carroll? My guess: Williams more of a three threat ..."

Again we run away from the more important question who makes us better, and who brings more to the game. If we are answered honestly
it's Carroll. If Marvins average ability to hit wide open 3s is all that's keeping him in there bring in Hayward with the starters. Carroll can be the bench
spark.

Because Carolinas schtick is racism. You should be happy that you can finally call an apple an apple. Why fight it?

That is true enough, I've been calling CJ out on his racism for a while now. But he usually attempts to mask it by using code words such as 'hopper.' It is rare that he is so overt and unguarded in his racism.

....the only logical explanation....since no other explanation is reasonable or plausible.....Corbin is black, Williams is black....Heyward is white? You come up with a better one, let's hear it!!!

No other explanation is reasonable or plausible to your racist addled mind, that is. I can think off the cuff of a number of alternative possible explanations that are more plausible to my mind than your jump to the conclusion that Corbin favors blacks over white. Perhaps he believes that Marvin is better than he's playing, and he's hoping that by starting him Marvin will find his groove. Perhaps he feels that the Jazz play better over all with Hayward coming off the bench. Perhaps he feels that Williams contributes positively in other ways that don't show up in the box score.

Remember, Corbin's reasons only have to make sense to him. He doesn't sit there and ponder what decisions will likely satisfy your standards of plausibility. AND I'm reasonably certain that Corbin's thought process, and thus what he finds reasonable, is not the same as yours.

As for why Corbin does not start Carroll over Williams, well that can't possibly be explained in racial terms . . . unless Williams' skin is a darker shade than Carrolls'. Yes, that must be it, since no other explanation is reasonable or plausible

.....lighten up! Obviously, I was just kidding! Corbin, like me, is completely color blind. He just doesn't know how to coach!

Given your history posting here, concluding you were serious was a perfectly reasonable conclusion, more reasonable than the opposite I think.

I'm skeptical, and am inclined to believe that you're now attempting to CYA, but if you insist, I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt in this case.
